| Dyno Apps
Hi, i did a quick search for dyno app topics here and didnt see any. so, sorry IF this is a repost.
I just recently bought an HTC Desire Z, android 2.2 which is my first smartphone. being new to this whole android world, i was hoping people here can point me in the right direction.
does anyone here have any good dyno apps? or know of any good ones? i searched through the android market and read some comments/reviews for most of them. and most of them have turned up with negative comments. either they arent working, not accurate, crashes, etc etc.
I know the iphone has dynolicious, which was reviewed and concluded to be very very accurate. (according to youtube videos and reviews).
i was looking for something similar for the android.
my brother owns an iphone, and has dynolicious. he also has a tool called "dash hawk" which plugs into the OBDII port, and calculates 0-60, 1/4mile etc. we wanted more devices like android and iphone to compare for more accurate results.
thanks in advance!

There is one on the android market called "torque".
It is free for ad supported one or ~$4.70 for paid no ads.
Haven't tried it myself so I can tell you if it is good or not but here the link to it. http://www.androlib.com/android.appl...rque-npqD.aspx http://www.appbrain.com/app/torque/org.prowl.torque Quote:
Torque is a vehicle / car performance / diagnostics tool that uses Bluetooth ELM/OBD/PLX adapters to connect to your OBD2 engine management / ECU
It can use the GPS to provide tracker logs with engine logging so you can see what you were doing at any point in time
It can also show and reset a DTC / fault code like a scantool.
It also has:
* Dyno / Dynomometer and Horsepower/HP
* 0-60 timings - see how fast your car is (or truck )
* Massive fault code database for allowing lookup of fault codes from many different manufacturers
* Send logging information to web or email CSV/KML for analysis via excel / openoffice
* Heads up display / HUD
* GPS Speedo/Tracking - see what you were doing and your engine, at a point in time
* Turbo boost feature for vehicles that support MAP sensors
* Alarms (for example if your coolant temperature goes over 120C!)

I just started using torque. Got a 25$ obd2 bluetooth adapter off ebay. Pretty cool. Used it to calculate hp/torque. 1/4 mile. Seems to be fairly accurate. It will also calculate mpg, shows coolant temp, a ton of other things.. highly recommend.
