One thing to keep in mind is: when you are getting new insurance (new plate) or on renewal, and if you are unsure about your discount, have the insurance broker call ICBC. Sometimes there is learner's credit that can be missed. Its free to call on new plate and renewal, however if you want to update your discount midterm, ICBC will charge a $30 fee, which comes off the refund..

$1500 a year for full coverage... But I'm in Alberta now.
And that wasnt even the cheapest. I think the cheapest was $1100 a year but a couple ppl said it took a while to get everything dealt with when they got in accidents with those companies

Just as an example of territory rate differences, my 05 Mazda 3 GT with collision, comp, 3 mil and $300 deductible costs $130 a month in Victoria, and the same coverage costs $230 a month in Richmond.

$5200 is quite a lot. That can buy a decent 2nd hand car for one years insurance. Ever thought of just taking transit so your CRS can drop first? | I would take transit and sell my car if it were an option for me, unfortunately the area where I live and work makes a car a necessity.
Relatively Young Driver + At Fault Accident = Ridiculous Insurance Premiums.
My accident was in the snow at a spot where there are routine accidents, I'm a very good and safe driver, but that doesn't factor into the ICBC assessment.

They missed a 5% discount when I went to my insurance broker. I had to call the ICBC head office to confirm this, and they sent me a partial refund for that 5% discount through my Credic Card

$1400 @ 43% discount
2010 Subaru Forester
$5 million liability
$300 comp deductible
$500 collision deductible
People need to post the coverage they have or it's meaningless.

Van isl. | That's cheap.
I think we pay a lot here for the lower mainland factor. Poor drivers and high vandalism/theft.
