ICBC Claim Body Shop for Aftermarket Parts

Hey guys..

I got into an accident last night that was 100% the other driver's fault, they took out my passenger side headlight, front fender, the corner of my hood, and my bumper. I'm assuming that I will need pretty much an all new bumper, headlight, and front fender. I'm not sure about the hood... but either way.

I'm looking for a body shop that will allow me to order aftermarket parts to replace my current aftermarket parts that have been damaged. Do you guys know any good body shops that would do that for me? I'm not really how the whole aftermarket replacement works with ICBC, if you guys could help me out that would be awesome!

Thanks in advance.

ICBC requires body shops to repair the car to its original condition. So I don't think bodyshops will do that.

However, I got my bodyshop to put on my own OEM bumper (from factory, but different trim). ICBC was okay with that, paid me the book value of the OEM bumper but my bodyshop got angry I guess because I cut into their profits. Hahaha

I think bodyshops rates are less thab ICBC quote rates. So they can double dip on labour and materials difference. (not 100% sure though - my experience with a chinese owned shop)

MANY shops will do exactly as you ask. Hell, I've done it with bikes. ICBC dosent' care as long as it dosen't cost more than OEM. If it's more, you pay the difference.

ICBC pays less per hour for motorcycles than what our shop actually charged. So, really all your "info" is not correct at all.
