paying fine day before before court summons

while going through my old mail I recently discovered that I had a court summons to appear before a judge at the Hornby St. location at 9am tomorrow. It's for an unpaid parking ticket that I procrastinated/ didn't want to pay. regardless, I don't really feel like going all the way downtown (especially when I have to go to SFU at 12:30). I know I can just pay it on the vancouver.ca/fines website, but I was wondering would it be cleared by tomorrow at 9am? I don't want to pay it then still have to show up tomorrow if its not cleared. You procrastinated, take it as a punishment. Wake up tomorrow morning and drag
your ass to downtown by 9AM. You'll be able to get back to school by noon.

I wish they would seriously change the wording on the summons. I know the issue is resolved but if you still have your letter flip it over to the back. Top right hand corner states that the date is not a court date. What that date actually means in english is you must choose to either pay or dispute your ticket by that date or else you may be asking for it. In reality though you can dispute well passed that date with no issues. That is of course under the old ticket system which as of Feb 21st has been changed.
