If there's no fresh snowfall within the last day or so before you go, it should be fine as they are pretty good with clearing the roads of snow.

bound to die

Shouldn't be too bad, honestly, I don't know if chains would even be necessary but better safe than sorry. I've gone up to Cypress on all-seasons in an Integra before and haven't had any issues. If its negative temp. I'd be more cautious of black ice though.

Unless it is snowing hard (like yesterday), you should be fine as long as you take your time. Gl!

Today there was a check and you were only allowed up with snow tires, even with chains you could not go

I'm guessing that's because of the load of snow we got yesterday, assuming such a freak occurrence doesn't become regular by next week, i would think it'd be safe... is the check done often? Or only after a fresh blanket of snow falls?

Just curious then...were they checking to see if its Winter Tires? Or did all-season with M&S get pass too?

mountain should be fine. i've been up the mountain around 9 times this season and taken an SUV each time with no problems. i figure if you have a passenger car with good season tires you should be ok. They clear the road almost every couple of hours from what i've noticed.

Do Not use Chains

+1 on no chains. I made it up just fine in RWD mode with M+S ... this was after a heavy snowfall last time I went. At the top the parking lot had a good foot - 1.5 feet of fresh snow.

without snow tires yes.

and there definition of snow tire is a tire with a "snow flake" on the side wall, with out that flake you'll be turned around. Also if you are in an accident because of the snow without that flake on your sidewall theres a chance icbc will deny your claim.

Offtopic, but I remember back in grade school we went to mount seymour for tubing.

I specifically recall the cop asking the bus driver "What kinda tires are you running?" and the bus driver replied "all seasons" ... and they let us go up lol. I guess regulations weren't as strict back then.

What's the point of asking a bus driver what kind of tires he's running if he lets them up with All Seasons? It's not like he's gonna have racing slicks on the bus lol.

LOL what do I know, I was in grade 2. All I remember is it was snowy as hell and I even remember a variety kids minivan going into a ditch on the side of the road, but they let us up and that's all that matters, no cop was coming between the slopes and me and my taboggan

The road up is pretty much clear all the way to the parking lot. I never go up on weekends as its waaay to crowded, but on weekdays and nights I have never seen them checking tires in the last 3 years I have been going up there. I just got back from riding today, drove up in a small pick-up with all seasons and no weight over the drive wheels, it was fine. Its usually more about the driver than the equipment.

Thinking to go up Mt Seymour these days, will they reject tires with m+s on them or I will pass the check point

In their website, mt Seymour says snow tires needed on the stretch of highway leading up. Whether someone is actively checking is another story.

I was up there Sunday morning, 3 people were in the ditch and at least 5 people were stuck on the road up, spinning all over the road and blocking traffic. Don't go up there without winters, its not worth the risk. Damage your vehicle for Seymour? pick a better mountain

More importantly, don't get in my way when I'm going up the mountain after putting your camry into a snowbank sideways.
