Looks like a Lexus on a huge diet!

I just don't like the rear though... too messy! Should be simplified.

i dont like the back too much
but the front looks so menacing for a sports compact
after watching the GT5 trailer the front fascia (where the LED line sits) looks to be inspired by the Citroen GT

love the last pic

it'd be nice if toyota releases another Celica too

although the last gen still holds up; still looks like a new car even though its been out since '99 (yr 2000 model)

Looks at the shape from the side, especially the rear part. It resembles a 7th gen.

looks like a riced out tiburon. trying to hard to cater to ricers? they need to lose the spoiler, ricey led and body kit. then, widen the track and make the arches more pronounced to give it a bit more hourglass shape. none of those 45-50 off set wheels. it needs some lip. the subaru display, although not much to see in terms on detail, imo has a better shape overall.

Here's the latest version from the new york auto show!

Still quite a few concept details but it seems like they have the shape of the car down. Looks good!

lol ^ +1

i dun understand the long development time after they got the initial concept out... i know it was ill timed from an economic point of view.. but still... send it to the authorities for the crash tests and get on with the program already, i dun see how this car wouldnt be profitable at abt 30K-35K =.=

disappointed that it's going to be under Scion...guess it makes sense since Toyota wants to keep that boring econobox image and port out its sporty/sports car into its N/A marques (Lexus/Scion). It's good to hear that they'll release it next year. Love the FR-S name too. At least Toyota's keeping us in the loop unlike Subaru.

some key highlights of the press video
Quote:
naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter boxer developed largely by Subaru. It features Toyota’s all-new D4-S injection system that uses both port and direct injection.

- All horsepower routes to the 20-inch wheels via a six-speed manual or paddle-activated automatic.

- A limited-slip differential ensures power is appropriately dispersed to the rear rubber.

- Four-piston front brakes are mounted directly onto the wheels in motorcycle fashion, a cue that most likely won’t make it to production.

At its launch today, Scion also mentioned the FR-S emphasizes balance with its low center of gravity and “ideal” weight distribution. The long, low hood, aggressive stance, and aerodynamic roof are proof positive this concept means serious business.
I know it's just a concept but anyone else think it's crazy having 20" wheels on such a short wheelbase?

^^ Sounds like they're going to be charging a premium for it with how they're describing it but that wouldn't make sense if its under the Scion branding that doesn't really make sense either

I don't like the idea of it being a "scion" -_- if i got it id be rebadging it to the 'T'

I was like "wtf?"

looks insanely hot btw from the pics in the link

they should have dubbed it the Celica :

shame it probably won't look anything like that when it gets released... we always get screwed from concept->production

Its good that they finally got rid of those LED's in the front. But it would have been much appreciated under the Toyota brand instead...
