Why do these people in Blair Witch type mockumentaries always run away?

If I saw something scary like that I'd probably try to punch it in the face.

Actually, it's more like Fight until you are scared enough, then you will Flight.

once your fear hits a certain level, you won't even consider fighting, you will just run away.
