UA Core Shorts Pro

I first saw these on Dragon's Den, then a followup episode where UA had bought and rebranded these. So I thought I'd pick them up and try them out.

Wow. I've had a slight groin strain for awhile which would bother me after running or playing bball. With these shorts I had no pain after 2 hours of cardio last night. Running, stairs, bikes, ... looking forward to trying them at bball on Sun.

Definitely recommend them for anyone playing sports. They are not only supposed to help rehab injuries, yet improve ability as well.

$75. Sportchek is having a 25% off sale later this month, I'm going to grab another pair then.

despite the fact that I work for Lululemon, but having tried their clothing, i have to personally say it's pretty awesome. The small details and material quality really differentiate the product. And it's cheaper than UA lol

These are just compression shorts AND both are more expensive than the equivalent UA compression short.

The Core Pro short I posted is very different than traditional compression shorts. Go to SportChek and grab one, you'll notice the difference the second you pick it up.

It is for the Core Pro. The regular Core short is $55, and the Compression short is $40. Lululemon does not make a Core short, only Compression shorts.

Oh, and can you get me a discount! I like their pants, yet not at $100

I don't think I like "ultra-tight" shorts around my crotch area when I'm playing in a basketball game. Exactly how tight do they fit?

icic. I'll have to see the UA ones to see the difference.

Unfortunately they're SUPER tight on discounts. We cant even buy for our family members. Only once a year on boxing day that we're allowed to purchase a max of $1000 for family/friends.

I used to "free bag" it for bball games, yet switched to compression shorts when I got into long distance running and haven't gone back. I don't know how to describe it other than to say my muscles feel so much better when using the compression shorts, and now even better in these core shorts.

unless you are using these to assist in rehab, i don't like them. they allow your core muscles to do less work and are effectively a bandaid for people who need to strengthen their core.

I'm OK with that, I hate core training

Tried them at bball today, best game in a long time. Perhaps I should do more core workouts...

Have you tried the non-Pro version to compare?

I have them on order, will report back when I get them.

In most reviews people preferred the pro version. The pro version uses a different heavier material, the non-pro version seems to use the same material as regular compression shorts.

Yes, they may be a bandaid. But many people will not put the work in to strengthen the core anyways, and this product will allow them to be active and enjoy their sport with a decreased chance of injury.

If I do a lot of walking or play roller hockey, my groin does tighten up on one side. With the core shorts Pro, roller hockey gives me no problems at all. Ice hockey and other sports have never given me problems either.

I've tried the Core Shorts Lite, but not for any activity though. The cost difference for me to upgrade to the Pro was not worth risking the Lite 'not doing enough'. The Pro are the most popular for us in terms of sales, and certainly the model we have to restock most consistently since we try to keep a full size run of each model on hand as long as UA has them available to us. I think in the past 2-3 years, we've sold maybe half a dozen pair of the strongest Rehab. The Lite is outsold usually ~4-5:1 by the Pro.

FWIW, the initial run of the Under Armour Coreshorts Pro had some fairly consistent QC issues. The more recent ones seem to be ok though. The original ones prior to UA licensing the design were more or less bombproof.

Im thinking of getting them for my lower back but when I tried them on once they don't se to go very high up. Like just above hip bone?

Any sales going on anywhere? 75 is a bit too high for me to "experiment"

UA very rarely goes on sale unfortuneately. You can wait for the 25% off Sportchek F&F sale in May.

I'd wager to say that they won't do a whole lot for your lower back though. Look into getting a lower back brace, or at the very least, an SI belt to help stabilize and offload the joints in that area.
