Depends on what ingredients you're looking for. If caffeine and choline (2 of the most effective pwo ingredients) are all you want, then something like Assault is fine. Just know that you are paying an extra $1.50 or so per serving for lots of other stuff you don't need.

IMO the most effective PWO ingredients are the ones that stimulate your mind and increase focus. Specifically the 'mind/muscle connection'. IE you want every single rep to be effective and in good form, even when fatigued. Those are:

Caffeine (many effects, mostly as brain stimulant)
Tyrosine (synergistic with caffeine, precursor to dopamine and adrenaline)
Choline (preferably GPC or CDP form) (precursor to acetylcholine, increases focus and 'mind/muscle connection')
ALCAR (Acetyl L-Carnitine) (fuel for the cells at a mitochondrial level - increases work output, synergistic with choline, increases focus and mind/muscle connection)
Racetams (Oxiracetam or Aniracetam, Piracetam is the oldest but weakest) (basically gives choline a huge 'turbo boost'. Really, your brain is in 'turbo mode' and everything works 'better'. Incredibly synergistic with choline and all cholinergenics)
Others: Huperzine-A, Vinpocetine, Rhodiola, Yohimbine, Ephedrine (depending on goals)

IMO a good preworkout stack would be

Caffeine 200-300mg
Tyrosine 500-1000mg
Alpha GPC 600-900mg
ALCAR 750-1000mg
Oxiracetam 750mg (will try aniracetam today)

NO preworkout is going to give you this much of each dosage, so really the only way is to do it yourself. Additionally, take 5g creatine and 8g beta alanine daily.

I'm just going through MP Assault's list and notice they have 5g Creatine and 4g BA. Would you think that this will be enough for the day if I go Assault + additional BA?

Yes you can skip your creatine dose that day, and one of your two 4g BA doses, IF you are taking a full scoop.

Leave it to Skinny to break it down for ya. Thanks bro! Lol.

The more I think of it, the more I wonder if I could make money with a PWO product... Hell if they can sell a $2 per dose supplement with $0.08 worth (retail) of ingredients, there's clearly some money to be made....

Maybe I should talk to potential investors.. build a single purpose retail site for it, nice graphics and everything

And of course you guys will be my willing lab rats :ilied:

:considered:

hal0g0dv2 05-14-2012 07:59 AM

just make it anything like bio test and i am in
call it anacobra

SkinnyPupp 05-14-2012 08:02 AM

Like Biotest in what way? Horrendously overpriced? ;)

Excelsis 05-14-2012 05:57 PM

RS PWO?

craze is fucked the more anxious you feel beforehand the more focused you are in the gym

:fulloffuck:

SkinnyPupp 05-15-2012 03:04 AM

BTW if you find that you are not very sensitive to caffeine, try taking it with milk thistle

Excelsis 05-15-2012 03:35 PM

skinny how would you compare aniracetam and oxyracetam?

and are you planning to try pramiracetam in the future too?

kevin7352 05-15-2012 05:49 PM

is ON's amiN.O considered a pre workout? it does have 160mg of caffeine in it. but it also says you can use it in the morning, pre workout, post workout :fulloffuck:

I like Ani better as an every day supplement. Will have to try it PWO a couple more times to compare directly as a PWO. I find Oxi to be stimulatory, while Ani is somewhat calming (but still increases focus).

Anything with caffeine can be a PWO. ON Amino Energy is basically just an energy drink. Think Red Bull, but with aminos instead of sugar

nns 05-19-2012 04:28 PM

How many tsps do you guys take of fish oil? I take 1, as the bottle says (Nutrasea). I'm wondering if taking 2 would be better.

I remember when I first started taking it last April. I noticed when I woke up in the morning, I felt a lot more rested. I also felt my mood was generally a lot better. I went for vacation for 1 week and didn't take any fish oil. Coming back, I started taking it again, but I haven't experienced any of the positive effects ever since. I've always gotten about 8 hrs of sleep, if that matters.

SkinnyPupp 05-19-2012 07:48 PM

:fuckthatshit: 1 tablespoon at night, 4 caps of Super EPA in the day

nns 05-19-2012 08:00 PM

Why do you take it at night?

SkinnyPupp 05-19-2012 08:17 PM

Because it would be too much to take it all at once, so I split the dosage into 2. One with "lunch" one with dinner

Alphamale 05-20-2012 02:01 PM

Anyone take any fiber supps? Looking to up my intake of fiber for more/better frequent movements. Are these supps worth it or is there a better, cheaper, faster way to clear the pipes?

kevin7352 05-20-2012 02:35 PM

ground flax seeds. dirt cheap and so easy to consume. put a table spoon in your water and just down it once a day
