Yeah I'm aware of that, but in my opinion they should just have it free above $50 regularly.

dyan 09-10-2012 06:36 PM

Yeah thats true.. without a code it's like.. $20 for shipping to Canada lol.

RacePace 09-11-2012 11:48 AM

$31 last i checked. Didn't order

n3w8ie-aler 09-13-2012 01:39 PM

which protein would you guys pick?
ON gold standard
or
allmax isoflex

sonick 09-13-2012 02:01 PM

Isoflex, as my broscience prefers Cross-flow Filtration over Ion Exchange whey.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about these these two supplements:

MRM Ginkgo B at Bodybuilding.com: Lowest Prices for Ginkgo B

L-Tyrosine Supplements at Bodybuilding.com - Lowest Prices for L Tyrosine Products!

Basically any help or suggestions for supplements in the "mental health" category is appreciated :)

I ran out of fish oil two weeks ago, and took my time replacing it.
My knee was so sore, it just ached for a week. I started back on my fish oil supplements last week, and the pain has subsided.

I love when it's just so obvious that something is working for you. It justified the cost, and effort of taking daily supps.

harrywang 09-26-2012 06:33 PM

Hey guys, new to working out here. I want to start getting into supplements.

I want to get whey protein isolate to help me lose some fat + gain muscle. Should I be replacing it with my meal or supplementing it? I don't get enough protein from my diet. Which whey isolate is the best bang for your buck and where do you buy it locally? I don't want to buy it online. It seems like ON is considered the best. It seems a little bit more expensive then the rest of the competition, is it really that good?

I also am looking to buy fish oil and vitamin D. It seems like these 2 give the biggest impact for me but the problem is I have trouble swallowing pills. I have been looking at ascenta with vitamin D seen herehttps://www.svncanada.com/product/1745/ascenta-nutrasea-plus-vitamin-d-200ml This seems perfect for me as it has both fish oil and vitamin D in liquid form. Does anyone have any experience with this product? it seems new and relatively cheap.

There's way too much stuff that helps brain function. Alphabrain is supposed to be a half decent blend of everything, I might try it as well.

Alpha BRAIN® — Flagship Nootropic from Onnit

Priced at around $0.88/capsule

EDIT: Thought about it too long. Bought it lol. Will post review once I get it.

Use promo code ROGAN for 20% off (basically free xpedited shipping)

noTirl 09-26-2012 06:45 PM

Ive heard good things about the costco kaizen brand which is on sale right now. I purchased a few tubs but have yet to try them. For protein intake its a supplement not a meal replacement. Sorry but i cant help in the vitamin d and fish oil stuff as i am not that knowledgeable in those.

lavisxice 09-26-2012 06:47 PM

^i just got two tubs of the kaizen costco protein from richmond hahaha

harrywang 09-26-2012 06:47 PM

How much did u get it for? Is Kaizen as good as ON?

Also does it matter if I use someone else's costco card? Lol

noTirl 09-26-2012 06:51 PM

Its hard to measure how great the difference is but its a solid value protein. I posted before and its 39bucks for 2.2kg and ya just find someone with a costco card and go with them.

I currently use ON and ive tried myofusion before as well. I find that ON mixes very well and taste great while myofusion taste great but is hard to mix.

harrywang 09-26-2012 07:12 PM

Wow 2.2kg for 39 bucks..thats like half the price of ON. I will consider that.

BrRsn 09-26-2012 07:13 PM

Just a quick aside guys,

If you eat something and you can't digest it, your bacteria in your intestine break it down producing methane gas making you fart like hell. That being said, kaizen has never made me fart whereas cheaper brands have. If it makes you fart like crazy probably not a good protein brand lol

I use kaizen, have been for a few years. Before kaizen I used ON, I notice no difference.

EDIT:

I found some data to back me up. A redditer got people to send him protein samples and he had them all analyzed

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...any=true#gid=0

As you can see, kaizen ranks pretty damn high.

EDIT: Also, look at the ingredients on your Whey

If it says "weigh protein concentrate" it is garbage.
If it says "weight protein isolate" it is good.

That's the general guideline I go by

Consider it quickly as the sale ends this weekend i believe.

harrywang 09-26-2012 07:15 PM

Is Kaizen only available at Costco? I will have trouble finding a Costco Card.

Only costco IIRC

Try craigslist, no harm buying off craigslist as long as its sealed and the batch dates are new

I have a question for the guys here who take Greens+, Vege Greens, or products similar to those.

How beneficial has it been since you started taking it?
What positive effects have you experienced?
Which one do you use and where do you buy it?

honestly if your just starting out i wouldn't use any supplements
idk, but i didn't use any for the first 3/4 months, but you do whatever

supplements shouldn't replace meals, you take them on top of your meals.

i use kaizen whey protein from costco its around $40 for 2kg which is half the price of ON and it works well for me.

cc604 10-01-2012 01:55 AM

hey skinnypupp/anyone else, i was hoping you could help me out with this question

long version:

Spoiler!

cliffs:

Spoiler!

however i still would like to take something to get bigger pumps, & from skinny's list 09 it seems like citrulline is a good thing to take for this, any recommendations on a brand/product to help me out? is citrulline something you buy alone like creatine/beta alanine or is it an ingredient u should look for inside a particular product?

hmm dunno if this is a stupid question but i started using assault today and it gave me something different compared to SUPER PUMP MAX. I felt like i had right chest pains and a hard time swallowing and gulping. Stiff neck and throat for some reason. Am i allergic or should i lower my dose? did like 2.5/4 of the scoop today. Never really felt this sensation before as i had trouble eating food, had to keep thumping my chest and drink water haha
