I think skinny pupp just sumed it up nicely.
Seriously people learn about this stuff before you change/cancel trips.
Airline companies are right now not changing flights booked because in reality..... ull be fine. I wouldnt advse camping next to the power plant but thats moreso because if it does explode it will go up in an almighty explosion.
Oh i love some people...... believe anything you read on the net or via media.
U do realize a day after the tsunami life was back to normal in Tokyo yet the media were still saying tokyo was in destruction etc. My friend called it a "nice ride" in his apartment in Tokyo. Hell planes were landing in Narita before, during and after the earthquake and tsunami.

Hell planes were landing in Narita before, during and after the earthquake and tsunami. | Well then, hopefully your friend and you are correct. It just boggles my mind that everyone is generally pretty cautious about stuff but when it comes to this they are saying everything is exaggerated and what not. IMO, I rather be paranoid and be safe, than to think everything is fine and dandy and have it backfire. Since I am not actually there, are the resources in Japan not becoming scarce? If it is like most people are saying, then why would anyone go there and drain the resources from the people who live there, just to go with their vacation plans. Everyone that is there or is going there that doesn't need to be is just draining their resources even more.
Lastly, do you think that if the radiation levels are really bad and above the recommended exposure, the government would actually announce it, causing an international scare? You guys must have a lot of faith in governments being totally honest to their people when shit hits the fan.

1) resources are not scarce in japan at all. biggest lie the media has said to date. Tokyo is low on fuels because they are having to ship it up to the north to help rescue efforts. More fuel is being shipped into Tokyo via boats. people living in tokyo (friends) say life is literally back to normal in Tokyo as it was a day or 2 after the tsunami. Most of japan except Sendai is life back to normal.
2) If you spend every waking day worrying about the dangers in the world.... your life sucks. Seriously.... glass of concrete and harden up!

There are certain things one should be a bit skeptical/wary about. Being paranoid about the air we breathe water we drink and whether everything is a possible carcinogen is one thing, but not going to Japan if you don't have to is being cautious.

do u think about going to LA? bad toxens in the air.
china maybe? parasites in the food.
australia? more animals to kill u there then anywhere.
Also what could happen... u could go to japan and have the most amazing time of your life. Meet the amazing people, see the sights of tokyo and maybe get in a drift muscle championship round.
want to be safe... stay in your bedroom. Travel is dangerous but well worth it.

want to be safe... stay in your bedroom. Travel is dangerous but well worth it. | That isn't the point. For me, all those "risks" you listed are things that could happen and you are very well aware of it when you go to those places... They are pretty black and white as to what you are getting yourself into. With radiation you have butt fuck no idea what you are getting yourself into. BTW, bathrooms are infested with ecoli, why on earth would I pick that of all places... |

In the grand scheme of things, it's a small part. But it's the part WE can have an effect on. Also, it's the part they were trying to boost right before the disaster. Posted via RS Mobile |

I don't know abt clubbing stuff since I'm always there to visit family so never really get to have a night life.
For shopping/eating I'd recommend Tenjin, Canal City, Hakata train station.
