Help me choose a new bberry

Work is giving me a new bberry to upgrade from my Tour. Which would you guys recommend? All are from Bell.

Bold 9780
Torch 9800
Curve 3G

Part of me wants the Torch but I have heard mixed reviews. Leaning towards the Bold at the moment. Any feedback or reviews would be helpful. Thanks

I went 8900 - > 9700 -> 9800

solid build quality on the 9800 but the sliding gets annoying.

only go torch if you need the bigger screen imo. They both run os6 just as well.

I went from 9700 -> torch -> 9780 -> torch. After having a torch. I didn't like not having a big screen. Its nicer for browsing and everything. I say go for a torch.

Now that I think of it, I've actually never even tried using a torch. How is the touch screen interface? Similar to iPhone would you say?

one more question. when using the keyboard, do you find the torch awkward to hold, given it's size? i've heard some people say that as well.

Took me a little bit to adjust as the 9700 keyboard was great. It's fine after a few days, the key presses just seem a bit "shallow".

Oh and the browsing with touchscreen on the torch is a great reason to go with 9800. I don't think I can ever go back to browsing with a trackpad anymore.

Go with the torch! I like the bigger screen and I bought a rubber hard case to fix the wobble

I think it all depends on what you want to do with the device. I'm using a 9780 and I've always been tempted by the torch so I searched for some reviews.

Alot of them say if you browse alot the torch is better, but if you use your phone for "getting things done" the 9780 is the better choice.

I don't browse much, but that's only because i've gotten used to the fact that blackberry browsing isn't great to begin with. Mostly it's used for text, email and bbm and facebook/twitter apps. If I do browse I limit myself to mobile sites as much as possible.

I'm going to go to a store and play around with the torch. Based on the input so far, now i'm curious haha.

Roommate has the torch, I had the 9700. The keypad on the 9780/9700 is definitely "nicer" but the bigger screen of the torch is useful.

The 9780/9700 feels more solid, and is slightly less bulky, as well.

Which carrier are you with, out of curiosity?

i chose the 9780 because the keypad feels nicer.. main reason is battery life.. i can listen to music (like 10 hour+) and browse random shit the whole day and still have battery before bed.

I did look into the torch but the keys feel a little less springy and the fact that i have to slide the screen up to type on the key was kind of a turn off..

on the plus side the torch comes with wireless b/g/n (9870 only b/g) and theres more internal storage.. and the screen.. but it sucks battery too

It's with Bell.

Going to try and hit up a Bell store today and compare both the Torch and Bold. I like the Torch's cool factor but think I'd be happier with the Bold in the long run.

I went from 8900 > 9000 > 9780

Dad has a Torch, not a bad phone but I prefer my 9780 over it

made my choice today. went with the bold. while the Torch's touchscreen functionality isn't bad at all, I still prefer a tangible keyboard and the Torch's is not all that great or comfortable (it's quite top heavy when the slider is open). The Bold is old fashioned but proven effective.

Thanks very much for everyone's input.
