Parking at a 'soon to be' metered spot?

OK here's the deal.. the street has parking meters ALLL along it except
for this one spot where, for 2 spots, there is a metal post where a meter is supposed to sit on. There are no signs at all.. does this classify that
spot as a free spot until a meter is placed onto there? most likely.. it is being
repaired or what not.

Also, similar scenario along David Lam park - opposite there are a bunch of metal posts with no meters on them ... YET.. and so people have parked
their cars along that street but eventually..there will be meters.

i think its free till the meters are actually up and running...

these new meters are stupid tho i used to park all along pacific blvd by bc place as did many other cars because it was free, and then they put in new meters and now no one parks there i never see a single car there on the way home

If there's no meter (just a pole) and no other sign stating otherwise, then you can park there for free.

Sometimes they'll remove the meter and put a no parking sticker on the pole, then of course you can't park there.

.. even if you want to pay, there is no meter ... I'd guess it's free...

Watch if it not close to curb. I got ticket once for parking behind an empty spot where no meter. Then I got a ticket for parking within 5m from curb/crosswalk.

yep - if the meter itself was installed but malfunctioning - then you wouldn't be allowed to park there. if there was no meter, you're good to go.

just like those parking places where you have to buy a ticket, if its out of order, you can park for free, but if they have more then one, make sure they are all out of order..
