Careful about buying stuff from there, as the roads are crap and the drivers are worse. Think of the damage done to suspension components.

Do they restrict the age of the imported cars? eg. 15 years a la JDM imports

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cars_in...7_-_present.29

There's a lot of euro models down there that we don't have, like a bunch of Fiats, Peugeots, Renaults (Renault/Dacia Sandero anyone? :fullofwin:), Seats...

"- Used vehicles from Mexico that can be modified to meet Canadian safety and environmental standards will be allowed to be imported into Canada in the near future"

Can/must be modified.

Anyone know what emissions standards are on these cars?

From what I've learned, Mexico doesn't have the same emissions regulations as north america(duh) and I wouldn't be surprised to find these cars without the legislated OBD2 coding needed for north american roads.
also, they mention canada, but don't specifically mention vancouver. In Alberta or most other provinces without emissions testing, sure. but vancouver and ontario(toronto) with emissions testing, good luck!!

And that's just the emissions side, Can you say crash testing?

If anyone has been to mexico you would know that a lot of their speed bumps are not the ones we have around, they are like grapefruit sized bumps on the ground formed in staggered row formation. When the bus/vans go over them it sounds horrible lol, can only imagine the constant pressure it takes from going through those daily
