If money was no object and you were tasked with building..

the most powerful and stable N/A motor and a forced inducted motor, which motor would you go with, and what components would you use? This is just a random question that I would like to hear peoples' opinions on (people with more knowledge than me).

Let's say money is no object and these are going to be your dream motors- doesn't have to mean the car will still be streetable. To stop people from just going with a BMW v12 or something, the displacement limit will be set at 4 liters.

Stupid to limit it to 4.0L displacement. You just excluded any Amercian V8, many of which can produce outstanding numbers.

I *was* going to say the LS-series engines for both, but that damn displacement limit...

Honda RA109E 72° V10 (675hp at 13000 rpm), for N/A.

BMW M13 for turbo, with about 900hp.

No one said you couldn't use F1 engines...

I said, "stable" . jking. tell me more about some of the V8s than please, I've heard good things about the Ls1 engine, but I have no idea about American.

i put the displacement limit because to me, it's more impressive seeing 1000 or more horses squeezed out of something less than 4 liters, than a 12 liter beast, but that's just me.

btw, you guys have only mentioned the force inducted ones, how about the N/As?

It is also typically less reliable.

Anyways hands down a 911 motor ie. GT3RS for an N/A 3.8L 450hp, track proven

Even the basic 3.8 in the 997.2 carrera S is an awesome motor that has just under 400hp. Decent on gas and daily drivable, good starting point for a build I guess

Oh more RB love than I thought!

If I wanted to build a motor, yes, RB, but I'd go to Mine's. Gotta love response and pickup instead of outright power.

Buy a motor... BMW P83? 19,000RPM 900+hp.

Kaase P-51 502 cubic inch V8. 800 HP, 740 lb/ft. Fully assembled and dyno tested for $14,900 US. Oh, and it's NA to boot.

Kaase P-51

I'd love to see any Skyline or Supra get 800HP for only $15K and be anywhere near as reliable.

And this is only one engine I picked. If you google for Chevy, Ford or Mopar racing engines there are literally dozens of companies and hundreds of different engine combinations to choose from.

Why settle for a piddly little 502 (8L)making only 800 horse, when you can get an 820 (13.4L) making 1800+ ?

Mind you, money would have to be no object because one of these bad boys is $60,000 or more
