Phone was officially announced today, along with HTC sense 3.0. The new sense looks really sick, especially the customizable lock screen. Might be my ticket back to Android !
Such a nice phone hardware wise, but I'm still not sold on any skin. To Sense's defense it's definitely the best out of the bunch (after using my sister's Dinc S and playing with MotoBlur and TouchWiz)
I'm not sure if they should really say "customizable" lock screen- it seems as though you can only choose from the templates given by HTC. Hopefully it's actually user-customizable, otherwise I'll stick to WidgetLocker (even with its minor bugs)

Looks like SGSII wins in all spec-sheet comparisons except screen resolution. Assuming the bootloader is not locked on the SGSII and you plan on running custom roms, I assume the SGSII is going to have the bigger XDA following. Otherwise you can't go wrong with either.
Unless samsung fixes kies for updates i'll never get another samsumg phone again, what a shitty program. I still can't update my captivate to 2.2. HTC is looking like a better phone just for that reason. Posted via RS Mobile
Invisible sky daddies commanding people to do shit is just so beyond retarded, I feel like punching myself in the balls until I shit my computer chair.

have you considered running a custom rom? even if you prefer stock, Cognition 4 really takes out the bloat and runs very well on a captivate. it takes about 20 mins of reading and 15 minutes of your time to actually do it. I personally can't go back to stock as there are 3 really good customs that are far superior (serendipity, firefly, and cognition). Luckily for us there's a HUGE XDA support community for the captivate, so any issues that may arise will probably be already sorted out, or be fixed quickly. plus it's even easier to revert back if you want.
but yeah kies is probably the worst phone software ever. took me 10 minutes to find the "correct" version for the I896, and even then it didn't work
I respectfully disagree with any criticisms against Sense UI. This is because Sense is a best of both worlds alternative to simply having a plain android interface. With Sense you have the option of using it or not (for the most part.)
With LauncherPro Plus, the integration isn't as clean as I would like it to be, although it is the closest thing to Sense. But that being said, since its basically a version of Sense without any extra benefits, why not just use Sense UI instead...
We're not criticizing Sense, we just prefer a different set up that's all :P For me it's being able to customize my dock (and even have multiple docks) as well as being able to swipe my dock icons for shortcuts which is a plus for me.
And besides, LPpro+Beautiful Widgets essentially gives the same widgets as Sense plus a few more (whereas you get Sense for free). So it's more similar than different.
I guess my point is that when you have Sense factory loaded on your phone, you have the best of both worlds. You can remove sense if you don't like it and use Launcher Pro or ADW etc.
However, any phone that isn't pre-loaded with Sense can only get Sense using a custom rom which usually does a poor job of implementing the entire Sense experience to the custom rom. Glitchy graphics, timestamp issues and memory loss are amongst the common problems with custom Sense roms. So logically, having Sense on the phone is the best option as you can revert to a standard rom without suffering any consequences.
Has anyone been using the Sensation for awhile now?? Any review or feedback would be appreciated. Still debating between HTC and Samsung... definitely leaning towards the new Senses UI but don't really understand the whole hype with the Galaxy S2?

What is it difficult to understand?
Samsung beats HTC Sensation 4G in every aspect of the phone, except screen resolution.
To most android fanboys and phone techies, it's not too difficult to choose.
It seems like you have made up your mind for the HTC. Go for that, then.
