Got stuck at Powell and Clark a year ago. Light would not change for the life of me so I crossed the red when the coast was clear. I sat there for probably 5 minutes.

Mind you, this was at 1:30am.

Yeah for me I always hypothetically do it on 57th at the light on Oak. Damn thing stays red for 5 mins if you actually decide to wait past 1am on weekdays.

editted a "hypothetically" into my sentence, just cuz.

got caught doing that years ago late at night and the cop was nice when I told him that the light wouldn't trigger. Let me off with a verbal warning.

I've actually dismounted, put the bike on it's center stand, walked over to the pedestrian signal switch and pushed the button to make the light change, pretty sure I'm still breaking the law so it's refreshing to hear that someone in authority recognizes the problem.

Hmm, I thought there's a similar law here... not for motorcycles, but for vehicles in general. No?

I think there is. Something similar to a 4-way stop type of rule.
