no that's Honda...at least Toyota after like a decade finally put LFA to production.

BaoTurbo 04-24-2011 01:25 PM

Sooo much want.....if they put the price around 20g's I want to take it. Tops 20g'ish

baggdis300 04-24-2011 03:20 PM

LOL

for 20g's you get a POS plastic car...
and with the equipment they are showing, stock 20's with 18" rotor's?

you need atleast 26-30g's to have an awesome sports car.

look at the kia gensis coupe, base is around 26g's

why the hell would a scion be less than a kia?

StylinRed 04-24-2011 04:37 PM

its going to be $30gs i imagine

unless they really dumb down the concept to the point that its just a pile of crap (which im dreading)

StylinRed 04-24-2011 04:38 PM

edit: rofl thought this was the canucks thread ;)

BaoTurbo 04-24-2011 05:16 PM

MSRP was 20g for the base genesis in 2010 when it first came out. Now its 24g MSRP for base genesis. Yea I agree 26-30g for a RWD 2.0T is the most ideal price...but I just don't want to believe it :(. Sigh....I'm looking forward to this car being the best sports car for its price in the near future. Even better than the GTI.

baggdis300 04-24-2011 05:29 PM

i'd be happy with a totally loaded sports model for around 30-35,000 fully loaded with navigation full leather trim just basically what a loaded is350 has would be ideal for features one that would be cool is cooled seats, my step dads gs330 has them and in the summer its freaking awesome.

now some forced induction would be AMAZING, probably not very likely tho as they want a sports car thats VERY good on gas...

did he say kia genesis coupe? is this for real or sarcasm?

death_blossom 04-24-2011 09:50 PM

LSD as standard equipment? this car is #winning already!

I hope they don't dumb down the concept too much. if anyone paid attention, this concept has 20" rims on it haha.

Death2Theft 04-27-2011 10:07 PM

Spec confirmed

Quote:

Toyota confirmed today the specs of the FT-86 production version, which is getting closer and closer to its premiere day. The Toyota FT-86 will be a new model, developed in collaboration with Subaru, which will be marketed as a Scion too (the FR-S). The production version of Toyota's FT-86 will be powered by a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated boxer engine, developed by Subaru. Toyota will add to the horizontally-opposed engine its D-4S technology, which features a direct injection system combined with port injection.

The Toyota FT-86 will be sold with a choice between a six-speed manual transmission and an automatic gearbox. For the manual version of the FT-86, Toyota promises quick and precise shifts with a short-throw, while the automatic model will come with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.

Toyota's FT-86 will be a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive vehicle and will come equipped with a limited-slip differential.

In terms of design, the new production model will be based on the Toyota FT-86 II concept premiered at this year's Geneva auto show. Some of the styling features of the concept however, might not make it into production.

it will probably be much sportier than your is300

BaoTurbo 04-29-2011 12:46 PM

So confirmed direct inject RWD turbo. Interesting. The tailights might not make it into production I can probably strongly assume that. Its too slim and I don't think all the necessary lights will fit into that kind of space. Might be modified a bit to be bigger. Everything else to me seems like its probable to make it to production. Really looking forward to the production release date or even finalized production. Hope I can send them something to tell them to hurry up lol :)

gilly 04-29-2011 12:51 PM

a little bit dissapointed that they will badge it as scion rather than toyota.

Alpine 05-18-2011 10:46 AM

Two new photographs of ring mules, 1 of a base model and 1 with a body kit :D
