What? The thread pitch is 12x1.25?

I bet Toyota is going to pull a 5x114.3 the next year model. Just like the 2004 STi?

5x100 seems to be the new 4x100 no? Civics, Corollas, similar econoboxes graduated to 5x100 in the last gen or two. The FR-S is still an econobox of sorts, just a sporty one.

The FR-S convertible looks like its lost its 2 rear seats

Most cars are 5x114.3 even the Scion tC

5x100: 1st gen matrix, 9th gen corolla (both non-XRS), last gen Celica
5x114.3: most Japanese econoboxes other than Toyota.

Of course, the fit/yaris/versa are 4-bolt patterns.

This looks like a great car for the price. I just wish the armchair horsepower critics would remain silent or withold their judgement until they actually drive one. There's room in the market for cars like this: think a modern-day Miata, CRX, or BMW E30 318is.

My friend went for a test drive. I had to drive him there so I got in the back seat.

Drove a grey manual fr-s on friday. I found it kinda gutless...although i was expecting some sort of kick at the top end. seems like it handles great though

Ya, i was suprised that there wasnt much power at the top too... but the low end and mid range was pretty gd for a 4 banger compare to Hondas. Probably the trade off is bit better for the street.

Test drove the car in Japan.... They only had automatic and was confined to 40km/h maximum.

Impressions:

Not much to say seriously when I was confined to an enclosed track and 40km/h AND automatic. It was slower than I thought it would be, but the seats were great. First car I've ever been in where I actually had to adjust the seats up instead of all the way to the bottom. Also can hear the engine quite well, probably cause of the sound piping.

Considering that the auto is geared higher and the torque converter, I would expect the manual to be a bit faster and crisper.

Also, girlfriend had no complaints in terms of seats and ride quality She actually likes the buckets and the support it gives. So for you guys with girlfriends, you should be fine, until you put in 400lb springs lol.

There was the stripped version sitting the showroom, and it was manual. Only other impression is the shifter feels great when stationary. Can't comment on actually using it but rowing through the gears were good, throws were short.

I wonder what the insurance vs the Genesis 2.0T? Since that's the only RWD 4 pot competitor out there.

I was lucky enough to drive the car this weekend too. However my experience was a bit different (More info coming soon).

The track was damp, we had the stock prius tires on, and all driving aids turned off. Right away I felt comfortable with the car. The seating position was fantastic, I could put the seat nice and low with the seats hugging me nicely. Flicked the almost 'short throw' feeling gear shift into 1st, give it a rev, some wheel spin and we were off. The steering was slightly light to my taste but it was still direct and gave good feel. I could feel the flywheel was really heavy, throttle sensitivity was a bit slow, but nothing to whine about. Up through the gears it was fun. Didn't blow my socks off, but that isn't the point of the car. You tip it into a corner and you can really feel where the passion is. Very maneuverable on throttle, quick transitions even with stock suspension. Torsen diff at the back made grip manipulation simple. I was amazed at just how good the car was direct from the factory. Man it is going to be a great car for motorsports!!!

Can't wait for this season!!!

On the closeup, the side grille on the BRZ looks pretty cheap:

Approve of the rear splitter and fog light though:
