Blackberry Bold 9000 no general settings?

2 Attachment(s)
I'm using my cousins old bb since he got a new one, so i want to reset to factory settings, i know its at Settings>Options>Security Options>General settings>menu button>Wipe handheld

1st, theres no settings folder, but theres options on the menu tray so i guess that didn't exactly effect it.

After security options theres no general settings only
Advanced Security options
Encryption
Firewall
Infomation
Security Wipe

Also, there are other files/folders missing like the setup folder

...Did you connect the phone via USB then open it up?

A pop up comes up and it tells you to enter the phone password. If your 9000 does have one, enter it and the program should read your phone.

if your just trying to wipe to factory settings (out of the box) then goto security wipe and you have to type in blackberry, if theres something else wrong with the phone use this guide http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101...ting-system-os make sure to delete vendor.xml this will re-install the os to your phone.

You need the blackberry desktop manager for your phone to be detected on your computer

Yeah if you get a data plan you'll be able to use BBM.

The BIS/BES email setup is just to set up and receive your emails to your BlackBerry.
