Thanks hopefully this one is better than the stock O/S that comes with the phone

My 9900 is really starting to tick me off; the touch screen is to sensitive always clicking on random links when I move my thumb up to use the track pad or the back button. Mine has crashed once already while having like Five Tabs open in the browser which my 9700 did prefusly. I really hope they've fixed some of the bugs because all I see so far is another same old blackberry with a nicer screen!

so glad someone finally posted about this.. for this reason alone, i dont think i will buy this phone unless otterbox makes a case that completely seals the phone off like the iphone 3gs case they have.

Simplex123 08-30-2011 02:32 PM

I don't have any of you guys' problems with my 9900. It works smoothly even when I load up 6/7 tabs. I have also never gotten any "Errors" or dust in the screen. This is a well built device - both software and hardware. Only thing I would point out is the accuracy of the touchscreen. It does not let you calibrate it, so when clicking links in the browser, it may not always get the right link unless you zoom in. But then again that's what the cursor is for.

Just found out a flaw in the design.
When you rest it on ur shoulder to talk.

The other person wont be able to fucking hear you

the mic is somewhere around there and blocks it out

Jegz 09-01-2011 10:47 PM

^ Just tested..seems to work fine.
Btw hows battery on your bold? I charged mine to full before using then let the battery die completely then charge to full again. Batt life doesnt seem that good. Was i suppose to discharge it right from the box?

Other than that, phone is fuckin sweet

6insomnia9 09-01-2011 11:00 PM

I think for the new lithium batteries do not require you to calibrate it.

My battery lasts about a whole day , with 3 percent discharge per hour and I have bebuzz on which probably uses a lot of the battery.

If you want to improve your battery, I find that turning your brightness to 0% as the screen is already so bright. Also if you do not use your GPS on your device, turn that off because that will save you a lot of battery.

When I first got the phone battery was pretty bad.
End of day of heavy bbm and email I would have like 25%

But now all day it would be like 50%
This is with like almost all day bbm
100+ emails?
Some browsing
And I leave my phone on 4g (h+)

By the way if anyone is wondering what the blinking light is when you make calls next to the LED notifier , its the Proximity sensor.

Its there so it knows when to turn the screen off when the phone is up to your face so your not pressing anything on screen.

The track pad also flashes a dim red after just being touched.

Love every minute. Touch screens awesome, plus the track pad just awesome.

I'm not seeing this on my phone?

Simplex123 09-05-2011 08:01 PM

Weird. My phone drained battery super fast twice in a row today. It drained it so much that I thought it was dead because it couldn't even turn on and only blinked a red light when I tried to turn it on. I'm on .317 right now, so I guess I'm going to update to the newest OS tonight.

Make sure you fully closed other apps. I left the maps application open once and half my battery was gone in less than an hour.

Simplex123 09-06-2011 10:22 PM

^Oh yeah.. the GPS would go crazy lol thanks.

If you guys haven't already, update to 7.0.0.353. The battery seems to be a little better than .371 and definitely better than stock. The loudspeaker is also noticeably louder. I say this because I listen to music in the shower, and yesterday I could just barely hear the song on max volume, now it's blasting ! The OS is now out officially from this Korean provider. Just use Google Translate to translate the info page.

I cant wait til Wifi hotspot.

Quote:

Basically, a device acting as a wifi hotspot means that the device can act as a wifi router, which shares its cellular network connection with other wireless devices that connect to it via the wifi standard.
I heard seidio is making an extended battery for this device.

Strzelec 09-07-2011 12:42 PM

Wifi hotspot saved me a few times when I had my desire. Cant wait til this baby gets it. It does have USB tethering though right?

I wonder how they are going to make the extended battery with the NFC built into the battery cover. Might make things kind of interesting.
