| quick Ebay question
Currently looking to order a watch, it's about ~$80 cheaper than any of the other sellers which leads me to think it is a fake/doesn't include authenticity cards and warranty cards.
I asked the seller and he assured me that it does in fact include authenticity and warranty cards.
Now before I pull the trigger I noticed it is a seller based in Hong Kong but the item is sold in GBP (british pounds). Is this something I should be wary about? (I've bought something in GBP and never received it...)

It doesn't matter where the seller is from,
just make sure seller:
- can ship to where you can pick it up and
- just be aware of the conversation rate from GBP to CAD... which should say when you goto ebay to buy it
They normally do this to make it seem like the item is cheap, but really, it's not when you convert it back to CAD.

they put it in GBP because they're advertising on ebay.co.uk mainly
being from HK 
you can buy fake watches with warranty cards etc
I was buying a versace watch recently on ebay and i suspected it was fake, I emailed the seller and could tell he had trouble with english from his replies; so i had a back and forth with him about "we're chinese brothers; if you want to con people fine but not one another" etc etc and the like
and he finally admitted it was fake and asked if I wanted to sell watches for him because he wants a "western" account so as to look legitimate as many people are apprehensive when the seller is in Asia
i stopped replying and didn't buy and soon after his account was closed

Yup, check his feedback but be extra careful if she/he has a lot of private auctions. That could mean the seller is selling fakes. And a lot of sellers are selling in different currency because the US dollar is unstable and the rates are all over the place.

I would be wary of feedback as well. I've recently found that many people quickly provide positive feedback to sellers as soon as they receive feedback as buyers. They don't wait till the product arrives and is tested but rather provide feedback while the product is still in transit.
I had problems with an iPhone conversion kit recently and messaged several previous buyers who had given positive feedback to the seller. They unanimously stated that they had problems with their products, the exact problems I was having. In fact, one person didn't even follow through with the purchase yet was still able to provide the seller with positive feedback.
The best thing to do is have the seller ensure you that the product is authentic. Take a look online to find out what are the giveaways of an fake watch (like the one you are interested in) and then compare it to the pictures of the item. With all this information in your possession, you have sufficient evidence to file a dispute with your credit card company and/or PayPal if the item does indeed end up being counterfeit.

Interesting, before I left the house tonight the seller had 10 left, now I'm back a few hours later and the seller is gone, item is nowhere to be seen on my "watch" list.
The user did have 160ish positive feedback though, definitely not as "reliable" as 1200 etc.
Guess something was up with the item being a fake lol

in response to people being fast on the trigger with leaving feedback, they can also leave follow-up messages to their feedback (unless this has changed, it's been years for me). So you can go through those and read them as well.
all the listings could have been pulled for a variety of reasons. search for his user ID on the site and see what you can come up with if you're interested as to what may have happened.

I always wait until I get the product before giving feedback.
Always ask if the product is real and not a fake. Fakes are not supposed to be sold on ebay. Make sure you have enough communication regarding that. That way if the item turns out to be a fake, you have enough for paypal to side with you in a dispute.

Also look for sellers with that ribbon beside them, which means theyre a top rated seller. Ordering from those sellers are worry free.

Also dont forget that shipping cost may be the "hidden" cost that bumps it back in line with the other sellers. You're probably most likely to pay for insurance which is extra if the watch is expensive.
Also dont forget HKD tanks with USD and they may of chosen GBP because its probably more stable (and in the long run possibly make more via forex back to HKD)
I am sure ebay will refund you your money if they state its real and they send you a fake, however it is a hassle to process and possibly only cover up to a certain amount.

Be wary of sellers who have like a keychain listed for $1.99 and makes it seem like it's a crazy deal but then charge $40 to ship it to you.
