looking for local volvo resources

not sure where to ask here, so sorry if this is the wrong place...

someone just vandalized my co worker's 98 volvo v70 wagon and smashed out the back window. she has no vandalism coverage, so claiming icbc is going to hurt, and brocco auto glass said they can get her a used one for $900 from a wrecker and another $200 to install... insane.

so she asked me for help to looked for a used rear window. i'm not good with volvos... are there any local private volvo shops that can help, or an online forum that has a local section? i only know of a place called "azro" at the corner of canada way/boundary in bby because i drive by it every day

Scandia Motors in Ridge might be able to help ya. Good guys, it's where all my Volvos got serviced.

Cruise craigslist. Call a wrecker yourself, $900 sounds dumb.

900 is ridiculous.

Is it the trunk window? Mine was smashed and the invoice from Broco quoted the window to be 500, parts (seals etc) 50, and labour 100.

Try A-Scott Discount... there were a few 98-00 v70's last time I checked.

ed schrams in surrey sells used volvo parts.

i've called them a few time for quotes, and generally their pricing is fair.

pretty reputable from what i've heard, and my volvo has some history from them.

Gah, that's the other guy I was trying to think of. I dunno if I agree with his pricing though, from what i've heard it's pretty high. I was told once he was asking $500-$700 for an M46 (240 transmission) which is ludicrous. Mind you, this is all heresay and I don't have any admissable proof.

thanks to everyone who replied. she called everyone and ed schram was the cheapest:

http://www.edschrammotors.com/

she still had to buy an entire rear hatch, but she was out the door with a used rear glass installed in her existing hatch for under $600 everything in

Does she have the rear hatch cover on? My GF has a 2002 XC70 and the windows were smashed 3 times within 6 months as she left the hatch cover off and thieves would see everything to steal. I forced her to put the hatch cover on, and no problems since - knock on wood.

no theft from vehicle. just a victim of random vandalism.
