anyone work at dealer, how long does it take to transfer a car

if you had to bring a car from other dealer because what customer wants is not in stock, how long would it take you? localy? out of province?

I'm getting a new car and they are transfering... taking longer than I thought it would... worried that some is driving it in from Calargy or something.

If car had to be "driven" in and put on big milage, would you disclose that info before customer makes a dission?

arent all cars carried on like those big towtruck/flatbed type vehicle so they dont get any mileage

hard to say. Within the city it's just as likely it's driven from dealer to dealer. Usually they keep the distance under 100km tho...so Calgary would be out of it.

I work at a dealership and it usually takes around 1 or 2 days to a week tops locally. Just like what hk20000 said, it is driven from dealerships to dealerships. How we do our dealer trade is we give it a quick wash and gas it up a bit depending on how far the other dealership is. It will have less than 100km on it. Do you have any additional accessories or undercoating treatment etc. that is dealer installed? If so then that might be the reason for the wait. Cars that are driven in and have relatively big mileage will most likely be ex-test drives. I don't know about out of provinces though.

Hope this helps OP.

They wouldnt have someone drive it. They would throw it on a truck. Ask them where they are brining it from. Is it a new vehicle? If you are worried about the kms being put on it, look at the odometer before you buy it.

Transferring time depends on where its from. The states= a week+, calgary probably 3-4 days depending on truck schedule.

If it's local the car usually comes driven (like Delta to North Van) but if it's anything further like Calgary it's usually truck/train

They usually tow it depending on the location of the car.. Bought my Corolla @ the Toyota on Marine and Fraser. The actual car was in Courteny on the Island and took about a week to get to me and KMs were under 25.

It's likely on a car carrier or train. If it is out of province most likely they're waiting for more cars before they ship it.
