used phone seller on CL

i've been looking to buy a new or slightlty used phone, maybe a Galaxy s. I've noticed a seller on craigslist selling quite a few different phones. His contact is (778 994 2621) any idea if this guy is legit?

you could always call him and check it out in person. bring a friend along.
your guess is as good as anyone else's.

he might just be an independent seller trying to flip all his inventory.

If you are worried if it is a stolen phone:

If you are interested in a specific phone, ask for the history of the phone. Also ask for the serial number. IMEI for sim card phones or MEID HEX for newer CDMA phones or ESN DEC for older CDMA phones. (CDMA non sim card phones)

Ask for the serial number and then call the orgininal carrier. (ex Galaxy S Virbrant from Bell. Call Bell customer service)
Tell them you are interested in this phone but you are unsure of it is stolen or not. They can run the serial number and see if it is stolen.

This only works for the Canadian carrier phone.
If it is an international, then you are SOL.

If you are worried about the quality of the phone, then you need to spend lots of time with the phone. Ask the seller if you can put in your sim card and test out the phone. Most sellers will give you as much time as you need to inspect the phone.
