Disputing ticket...need some help pls

I'm not sure if this has been posted before..

what happen is that I disputed my speeding tickets back last year and the court hearing date is May 12th 2011 ( in 2 days)

If i decide to fill out the (PTR022) form now, (which is the form to reduce amount/ or additional time)...would it be too late now?

I'm thinking my letter will probably take more than 1-2 business days to get delivered and on the dispute letter says "if you dont appear on the date...you will be deemed guilty and the contraventions will be added to your record"

anyone have similar situations before?

Pretty much I wanna see if its possible to lower $$ or take additional time before trying to pay it...

or am I too late?

Thanks

Go to your court hearing.
Meet your Officer who issued the ticket.
Ask for reduce ticket amount with your Officer.
Judge will decide how much in reduce.

*there is a Police forum in RS*

This.

Or you can also ask the JP (not a judge but a justice of the peace) and he/she will do it for you instead of the officer.

And yes, answered multiple times on the police forum.

I remember the sign I saw somewhere...."a lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine". Somewhere between last year... and the date of your post here, you could have easily done what you are trying to cram thru now.

If you do not appear at the court date it will be deemed by the court that you have abandoned your dispute and that is entered as a guilty plea. Just asking...but why didn't you act when you had time to do so?
