Premier Pro of Final Cut Pro is pretty much the industry standard (For DSLR editing anyways)

Buffer is filling up on your comp. Try playing the video in a lower res so it's less taxing on the computer.

here's a test run i did. you'll notice some parts of the clip chops or stutters while others play smooth. hoping someone can tell me why its doing that.

As Jordan said, it's buffering. When you're finalizing your edit, make sure you have nothing else running in the background (this includes web browsing, listening to music, etc).

Sony Vegas is probably your best bet, especially if you want something user friendly. I use a mixture of Adobe Premiere/After Effects and Avid, however all three of those programs have a giant learning curve.

^Haha, its honestly the best car clip out there. Its called a Proclip. Or a Brodit (Same thing). You need the car specific mount then add on the phone specific holder. It can get pretty pricey...

Made a music video for my friend for a contest. First time using the video recording feature on my D7000. Played around with several lens and I realized I need a better tripod. Camera shake when i had my 70-200 f2.8 on the camera lol.

Used imovie for the first time and its pretty easy to use but there are hardly any functions. Final cut pro looks interesting but at the same time overwhelming for a noob.

what you guys think?

Here are 3 videos I put together from weekend trips. Probably went a bit overboard with the stabilization feature. Me thinks it's time to invest in a steadycam and a proper tripod lol. All of these videos were shot with a Canon 550d (no magic lantern) and a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8.

Just sold my 28-70. Looking at Carl Zeiss lenses for mainly cinematography (and some photography as well). Thinking of picking up a Distagon 35mm f/2 and a Sigma 50mm 1.4 to replace the 28-70.

Thoughts? and anyone have some experience with the Zeiss lens to share? I know they're good quality, but it might not be something I can get used to quickly?

Bought one of these today: Carry Speed VF-3 Universal LCD View Finder by Carry Speed | Carry Speed Store

The Zacuto loupes (these are for video...btw) are too f'n expensive. This one is $60 off for intro price and seems like a good beginner option.

Gonna build a ghetto PVC shoulder rig on the weekend. Gonna be working on making one from aluminum sometime...I have access to a lot of metalworking equipment at the airport.

^^^ That looks like a real pain in the ass to use out in the field. The Zacuto is the right choice for me. It's not perfect, but the optics are great, and it's built tough.

I can't believe you think the Zacuto Z-Finder is expensive - you bought a Retina Macbook Pro!

It's about an inch longer than most, I think.

There's a big difference between $2500 for a laptop and $400 for what is essentially a toilet paper tube with a magnifying glass glued to a it.

Have you even tried a Z-Finder? The cheaper viewfinders look and feel like a toilet paper tube + lens!

Yeah, I have. It's still too much at $400, though. Could go towards a 85L...

Zacuto has lifetime warranty. The build quality and the optics is freaking nice man.

Looks like a Manfrotto 509 head mounted on the 545B tripod. Basically a pretty $$$ setup.

Well suited for what he has mounted on it.
