I am not a green party, or peta activist, but I just don't think that the people that made this movie should be encouraged/supported for doing these kinds of things to animals. Just leave them in the wild were they belong.
I did some googling after watching your clip, because I wasn't sure if it was a documentary or what. So, for those who don't know: the clip was basically a behind the scenes thing for the drama Water for Elephants.

I won't watch this movie. The fat American trainers in the clip make me mad.
I'm not a tree hugger or anything either but I fucking hate when people abuse animals, shit makes me sick. It's ironic how the movie is based on a student joining the circus as the vet
They're training them. I'm sure if the elephants follow a command well they get treated with a treat. It happens with ALL species, even humans. Sure some of it looks harsh but most animals learn from their mistakes by suffering a consequence. No i don't condone any REAL abuse i.e. dog fighting.

this is exactly the reason why i never went to the circus when i was a kid cuz my dad never took me there for a reason (he keep saying hes busy) but the truth was my dad was sent to Pakistan for a few years or so to help a company out & the locals took my dad for "some fun", turn out it was show where 3 dogs fight a chained bear
long story short the chained bear slapped all 3 of the dogs died in matter of secs with one slap, thank goodness he never took to the circus & also i was gonna watch the movie base on the plot but now not gonna water it period
I went up to a cute chick and asked her if she'd let me take a photo of her for $30 she slapped me, she said to me that "I AIN'T A WHORE!"
But other than that I have seen every car on display in DTP just by cruising about in Richmond, thank you very much for collecting them together and get someone to sing a cover for "fuck you".
OH FUCK YOU OH OH OOOOH~

Everyone is a hypocrit. Unless you live in the forest, on 1x1 pad, sleeping on petemoss and eating huckleberries and pinecones through out your whole life then your a hypocrit.
If you wear nike/addidas have a iphone you support slavery
If you drive a car you support the destruction of the environment
If you smoke, drink, eat mcdonals then you support the destruction of yourself.
You must know, that there are so many FUCKING BAD THINGS in this world its hard not to support any of it. So I made this thread to bring attention to the fact that animals were severley mis-treated in the making of this movie and you can choose to not support by not seeing.

I don't condone real abuse of animals as well, but sometimes I don't understand why you guys get so upset over certain animals just because they are not the normal kind of animals. So, when you are training a horse to let you ride on their back and go in the direction of your will through physical reinforcements that's not abuse in your eyes? The massacre of animals hourly for food is not abuse?
I'm not going to support this movie, or really any movie that uses animals as entertainment (we just had the circus du solei thing in vancouver with purely horses as entertainment), but I'm not going to be going "that's" wrong because that's how that family chose to train elephants for a living. You might as well condemn farmers for using cows to plow the field (cows don't like to drag shit around for you) and dogs as pets (you need to provide negative reinforcements when they poo on the floor or claw up your carpet).
It just happens so that elephants are huge creatures, and the only way you can reinforce actions is through what appears to you as powerful swings of a stick. Have you guys seen working elephants that work in Cambodia and Thailand? Those elephants carry WHOLE TREES through the jungle.
