I watched the Bourne Trilogy so many times on blu-ray. I still can't get enough. I read the books as well. Everything Bourne is awesome, however, I'm not sure how I feel about this new movie. I'll still see it in theaters but I guess I just wanted another Matt Damon movie lol.
Thumbs up for Bourne!!!

So is this a prequel spin-off of Avengers? So this is where Hawkeye got his shooting skills from ... and Hulk pre-gamma
Crappy Hulk? Last I checked, the first Hulk (Eric Bana) was way shittier than the Ed Norton version.
Back on topic ... I only watched the first movie and I haven't seen the 2nd and 3rd ... didn't have time and I totally forgot about it until now ... I guess I should get on watching them again before Legacy is out

Watch them anyway, nevermind Legacy - they're GREAT!

I never got a chance to see this movie in theatres so as a fan of the novels and movies I am quite disappointed but The Bourne Legacy is being released on Blu-Ray in three weeks. Perhaps someone will give this to me for Christmas, although I highly doubt it.
I've heard its not as good as the previous Bourne films, is this true?
If there is a sequel to The Bourne Legacy then I really hope to see Matt Damon in it as I am not a big fan of Jeremy Renner.
I apologize for bringing back some what of an old thread.

I wouldn't say it's not as good. Has all the key elements - intense action, intrigue (why are they trying to kill him?), etc. It goes more into the backstory of Treadstone, and thus more of Jason Bourne's backstory. The timeline partially parallels the last half-or-so of Bourne Ultimatum and the fallout from Pam Landy faxing the Treadstone documents to... whoever she faxed them to, so for the most part, it IS a continuation of the story from there, with most the same supporting characters in the same universe... just following a different main character; giving us another character's perspective of events we've already seen. It continues the same underlying theme and inner conflict Bourne had - "Look at what they make you give."
I was kind of "Jeremy WHO?" going into it because I didn't really know him from anything else, but IMHO Renner did a great job. He doesn't look like much of an ass-kicker at the start - but then whoever pictured Matt "Pretty Boy" Damon as an ass-kicking action hero before Bourne, either? - but fills the role quite nicely.

Thanks! I still want to see it. The films are a bit different then the books and even though I've read the books and watched the movies so many times, I still want to see Bourne Legacy no matter what. Lets just hope Santa will put both Bourne Legacy and Dark Knight Rises under my Christmas tree this year.
Because if not... well... then...

Yeah, this one especially, the Legacy book carries on after Ultimatum, whereas the movies overlap. According to Wikia:
Quote:
Originally the film was to be written by George Nolfi, and would star Matt Damon, Julia Stiles and Joan Allen. However on November 30th 2009 [director] Paul Greengrass stated he was not interested, and the project was cancelled. Matt Damon said he wouldn't return to the Bourne franchise unless Greengrass directed again.
Tony Gilroy was announced as writer and director on June 9, 2010. The film was set as a "sidequel", rather than a direct sequel or reboot of the franchise.
