Blackberry Whitescreen of death

i bought my gf a blackberry 9700 for her bday.
she had it for about 2 months and now the screen turned all white but everything on the phone works fine like incoming calls, bbms, txts, she just can't see anything cuz it's all white
is there anyway to fix this? i heard a "clean restore" fixed it but it didn't work
any shops i can take it to?
thanks in advance

Hmmm had the same problem with my 9700 from dropping it so many times, you need a new screen to fix the problem. I got quoted 120 from a place in richmond to fix it, or diy by buying the screen off ebay for 60ish. Eventually my phone stopped getting white screen of death so I never had to repair it ...lucky me

Also try upgrading to OS 6 if you haven't already. I've heard it also fixes the problem

i had this problem with my 9000, i had dropped it a million times so i assumed it was from that. i searched online on what i could do and i found some forum where a guy mentioned that there's a loose connection to the screen so he had to open it up and fix that connection.

reading that really pissed me off cuz i didn't wanna do that. as i did a battery pull i squeezed my phone in anger and believe it or not it booted up normally. i did this for about a year and it usually worked. fail me or whatever, just saying that it worked for me..
