what does this mean with regards to mature student Mature Applicants: Applicants who are 20 years of age or older, who lack the minimum program admission requirements, may apply as mature students. Written requests for admission as a mature student will be considered by the Admissions Office in consultation with either the program coordinator or with an Admissions and Academic Advising Officer. Applicants should provide, in writing, details of other qualifications or experiences on their application. An academic transcript of all education completed should also be submitted. An interview may be required with an Admissions and Academic Advising Officer or a program coordinator. This might sound stupid but I just want to be sure. Does this mean that since I am over 20 I qualify as a mature student? What does Capilano University mean when they say "who lack the minimum program requirements". Are they talking about Provincial Exam marks and high school courses? thanks for the help |
this is a student over 21 years old. These students are often returning to education following a break and they come from all walks of life |
thanks a lot dignatas. That is what I will sign myself up as!! |
Mature student is n't really anything special. youll still need prereq's for certain programs before you can join. |
capilano U has "free" adult education classes that are self pace. you just have to pay the admission fee (like $40 bucks a semes) they will give you the text books and everything, use these courses to get your pre reqs to the courses needed. |
wow, thanks a lot for the info Okami. Do you get credits for taking those courses? |
you do get credits.. but they prob wont count towards a degree |
