3 - 4 days summer getaway in BC

Looking for ideas for a short vacation during the summer. Need some recommendations.

One of the idea is going to one of the private island in BC and rent a cabin there. Just wondering if theres any entertainment provided? and looking for some cheap ones.

I go every summer to Penticton... it's a very relaxing place and not too crowded IMO.

And while you are there, check out the farm market on the road... if you see "peach salsa"... get it... it's beyond awesome.

If you are able to drive why not tour the Okanagan Valley?

Start from Kelwona and drive down to Osoyoos. For your accomodations, you can check in one of the hotels or camp grounds.

Great time to go is from July to August.

Whistler is my favorite place to go in the summer. In fact I like it there better in the summer then in the winter.

we already went to whistler and okanagan this year and last.

what about harrison springs? are there anything to do there?

MelonBoy 05-25-2011 09:33 AM

Harrison springs isn't bad but I think its more of a 2-3day trip.. aka you might run out of stuff to do.

Im planning a trip this summer for the island.. going to probably hit up Tofino -> Nanimo -> Victoria in one go.. probably 3-4days maybe 5?

Chronix 05-25-2011 12:23 PM

whats there to do in harrison springs?

and how much would your trip cost?

MWM 05-25-2011 07:30 PM

Whistler is always a good idea and harrison hot springs do get sort of boring but you could always go to summerland its pretty nice their definatly a nice vacation spot in BC or savory island is always nice but i mean depends how much money your willing to fork out?

Chronix 05-25-2011 07:52 PM

maybe 200-400?

MWM 05-25-2011 08:03 PM

So just the expences for yourself then I would just stay in osoyoos for a few nights have fun stay by the water maybe rent a kayak for the day or somthing

Chronix 05-25-2011 09:28 PM

yea for myself. but there would be about 6 of us going. thanks. ill search up for osoyoos. let me know if you guys have more suggestions

MWM 05-26-2011 01:20 PM

Oh if your going with 6 others try and see if you could go to whistler would probably be fun with a group of people

Chronix 05-26-2011 06:46 PM

Surprisingly Nanaimo is quite relaxing and the food is quite good comparing to Vancouver pricing.

Saw a few posts in this thread mentioning about Whistler.

What do you guys do in Whistler during the Summer time?

Go into the village.

Whistler is pretty awesome imo, if you know how to appreciate the outdoors and scenery.

I could hang out at a Cabin for a whole weekend without leaving granted I 'm staying with the right people.
