Precision Dent Repair in Richmond review

tldr/cliff notes - precision dent repair in Richmond does excellent work and I recommend them.

Like most people with daily driven cars I've managed to accumulate a few dings here and there.

Well, my car was dinged again last week and it was on the upper part of the drivers side door where light reflects and whenever I'd get in my car my eyes would be drawn to that ding. I decided that I wanted to get rid of all the dings at once. I've never tried paintless dent removal before and was concerned about how effective it would be. I also did not know who to take my car to.

Dents Unlimited has good reviews but they are in Port Moody which is an hours drive from Richmond. I used google to see if there were any pdr companies nearby and saw Precision Dent's website and it seemed very nicely made and professional. And they were located in Richmond! I gave them a call and Chris picked up the phone. He was genuinely willing to answer all my questions and put me at ease which I believe is important for companies like this. I also found out that they offered mobile service - perfect! We then set a house appointment for the next day (yesterday).

Chris arrived at my house on time and inspected the dings. The smaller ones on the door were easier because he could get at them from behind. These were fixed really fast and were done perfectly. I also had a bigger dent on the driver's side rear quarter panel that was on a body line. There was no way to access this from the inside unless you drilled a hole because of the way my car is made. Chris understands that drilling is a very last resort and wouldn't do it unless he had no choice and even then he'd get permission first. He said that even if it was on a body line he could glue pull it and massage the dent from the outside. I was watching him work all this time and it truly was an art. The ding on the body line took longer but it was done perfectly as well.

He managed to fix all the dents I wanted gone perfectly. It was like magic. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my car so when I say I'm happy then its 100% gone and you'll never know it was dented. Even if I point it out to you you'll think I'm lying. It helps that Chris is also a perfectionist and has 10 years experience in pdr. He works from the Richmond automall and does cars (including exotics) for many dealerships but he wants to expand to private jobs now.

Whew, that was a lot of typing but I decided to do it because I really am happy with the job he did and am glad that there's someone in Richmond that can provide excellent pdr services. So customer service is excellent, workmanship also excellent and price is reasonable. Because of that I don't have any qualms about recommending Precision Dent Repair to friends and family and revscene. If you live in Richmond and want dings gone go check them out!

+1111 for Chris.

I had a dent on my Audi A5, it was on the passenger side door near the door handle and it was annoying me so a few weeks ago I google'd up "dent repair vancouver" and came across Chris' website. Called him up and told me he would swing by my house but I was busy so I told him I would call him.

I call him on a Saturday, late afternoon and asked if he was available, he told he was and to swing by the Richmond automall. I show up, very friendly, looks at the dent, gave me an quote and 5 mins later my dent was removed. Great guy and highly recommended.

$100 to start and $20 for each extra ding I believe. So its best if you have a few dings you want removed at once. I got rid of three dings myself.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I just wanted to give my thumbs up for Chris.

I've accumulated a handful of unavoidable dings [I live in Richmond] over the past years and there were a few that were really bugging me especially the ones near the driver side door which I see everyday.

I've looked around on the internet for PDR companies and finally decided to go with Precision Dent after reading the positive feedback on this thread. I managed to get an appointment with Chris on a Saturday which worked out great since I work mostly weekdays.

The whole process took under an hour while I watched. The dents on my car are now all gone and the paint looks perfectly smooth again. I'm extremely happy with his work as he didn't take any shortcuts for the repairs. He made sure the dents are completely fixed and not just unseen by our untrained eyes.

I highly recommend Chris at Precision Dent [Located in Richmond Auto Mall] and will definitely go back when I unfortunately accumulate more dents from "Aunties in Richmond" as Chris puts it. Thanks again!

Here are a few pictures of the dents that were repaired

@Energy, I have the exact same dents as you. A few dents on my doors, and one on the body line in the driver side rear quarter panel. Does he touch up the spot too if the clearcoat was damaged?

Just call chris if you have questions. I know him personally, and he works damn hard on his business - if he can do it, he will do it and he will do a great job. If its not doable, he will tell you, he won't do some half arse job and charge you - not his style, and not how he builds a good business full of repeat customers.

We're not pdr specialists, he is - call him tomorrow and ask

I went to him last spring because of this thread and he did a great job. He even found some other minor dents that I didn't even notice and did those ones for me as well for the same price we agreed to before he found those extra dents

Are you asking if he'll touch up clearcoat damage that he caused while repairing a dent OR pre-existing clearcoat damage?

For the former, I don't think you have to worry about him damaging your clearcoat - if it can't be done or he's not sure he'll let you know. For the latter, he didn't used to do paintwork and only fixed dents but that was a while back.

Give him a call just to be sure.

Hands down the best at dent repair.
Father in law's new subaru got a dent the size of a tennis ball, from work probably tight spaces, and when they repaired the dent, it was like brand new... Surface was smooth and flawless. Went to automall and left him the car, came back in 1hr or so, and was perfectly done! Charged like $25x or so. Luckily there was no paint chip at start.
