Blackberry Warranty

Hey guys,

I have a 6th month old BB Torch locked to Rogers. In the past few days I've noticed the ear piece speaker has become very crackly, causing it to be extremely difficult to hear people on the other end. Clearly the speaker is blown. I called BB because I've read online that this would be covered under there "1 year manufactured warranty" The girl on the phone told me there was nothing they could do for me and to contact my service provider.

I looked on the BB site, and they have an exchange program where, you make a claim, they send you a phone, you send yours back in a box and its done.

Has anyone been threw this, and could shed some insite.

1 - call rogers
2 - verify your phone is under warranty
3 - they send you replacement
4 - put your old defective one in the box and ship it back to rogers

5 - they'll charge you if they find the phone you sent in was damaged due to user negligence.
