iPhone 3GS 06.15.00 baseband downgrade/battery draining (been re-activated) So is there a way to downgrade my baseband from 06.15.00 to something lower? I want to restore my phone but need to restore the baseband before I continue. On that note, my battery is getting drained after upgrading the baseband (had to unlock my phone) and I've re-activated my phone with my legit SIM card however my battery is still getting drained with data turned on. Any other solutions? Posted via RS Mobile |
The baseband can only be upgraded. You are stuck with the iPad baseband, nothing you can do. The only way to have a lower unlockable baseband is to buy and install another baseband chip. I've see it on the net before. As for the battery draining issue, you might want to try SAM. Go to modmyi.com or xsellize.com and look through the info here. The phone is really messed up with that baseband as you can't use any official firmware. Posted via RS Mobile |
no way to go back. you ruined your phone. |
That's why they have these warnings when you choose to upgrade to the iPad baseband. It cannot be reversed. WARNING — YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! PLEASE UNDERSTAND THE CONSEQUENCES OF UPDATING TO 06.15. There is no way to come back down from 06.15, and there’s no hiding the baseband version from Apple. You’ll be voiding your warranty in a very obvious way. If some future baseband comes out with a critical fix, you won’t be able to update to it if it remains down in the 05.xx sequence (then again, you wouldn’t update to it if you wanted to keep your unlock anyway). Starting with FW 4.2.1 if you have 06.15 on your iPhone you won’t ever be able to restore to stock firmware (it will fail). You’ll need to only restore to custom IPSWs (then again, if you’re unlocker you should already be doing that). |
I fixed the battery problem by changing the battery, at first I thought it was the messed up firmware that was draining the battery until it improved after I changed it. But my phone has been randomly shutting down by its self. Like I would lock the screen then literally 5 seconds later I press the lock or home button and it will boot up... Has anyone tried going to settings>reset>erase all content and settings to see if it sorta restores the phone? |
resolved problem, solution is to activate WITH sam even if you have your original service provider's sim card. Had to deactivate and revert lockdown to stock, then manually find my carrier. Phone works just like before now =) |
