Trail runners. Cheap, destroyable trail runners

i just wear a pair of nike training shoes

went again tonight with Derek_N84 and got 1:04 as my fastest time so far. going again tomorrow and hoping to break it

kayceeee 07-21-2011 08:32 PM

are running shoes bad for it? cuz i do run occasionally as well as do the grouse grind once to twice a week but don't want to buy separate shoes for it. i was looking at the nike free run+2 but it looks like it'll get destroyed by the grind.

i use my nike trainers and those are pretty much like running shoes. they're white/blue but covered in dirt and dried mud now.

just get another pair of trail runners if you're scared of destroying your current pair. good shoes make a difference especially for the grind

maxxxboost 07-22-2011 02:28 PM

kayceeee 07-22-2011 07:26 PM

i gotta pair of freeruns+2s but i stick to my cross trainers. Better grip, better support, and the harder rubber sole helps a lot for hikes. Plus the freerun+2 are the best runners iv ever owned so i treat em nice

Ch28 07-26-2011 12:05 AM

thanks I'm probably going to stay away from free runs then

probably looking into nike zoom vomero or lunar glide, or salomon xr crossmax

RayBot 07-26-2011 07:01 PM

Go with the Alvords!! They are dirt cheap and it will take helluva beating!!

kayceeee 07-26-2011 07:06 PM

I'm probably gonna head to bellingham next few days to check some shoes out since our dollar is so high

best feeling ever! :)

m!chael 08-12-2011 09:45 PM

Did it for the first time last week, 45 minutes. Gonna try and go sometime this week and hit below 40, hopefully. Any good tips guys?

You should be able to hit 40 no problem within the next round or the round after. The first time is always the toughest...now that you know the terrain (somewhat) you should be able to breeze right through it.
