I'm going tmr for the first time.
So far, people have recommended me to bring water bottle, dress lightly, and leave wallet and cell in car.
Anyone know how much is the parking?
The gondola ride down is around 10 dollars this year.
I'm wondering if its possible to hike down or is it not recommended
Also, is it cash only?

If you have a drawstring bag, you can carry all your stuff worry free without any feelling of excess weight.
BRING WATER.
Lot D is free
If you are a beginner hiker....hiking down is not recommended.
Cash or card.

Considering yesterday was my first day of holidays, i decided to do it twice. First round was 49m (best time of season so far) and bumped into Martin Gelinas (Preds staff and Canucks alumni)who remembered me as the guy with the Preds tatt. Second time around was a nice casual walk up in 1hr11m and randomly bumped into an old buddy of mine and just climbed up together. Posted via RS Mobile |

Just wondering who takes breaks going up?
I usually just push myself up slowly without taking any breaks.
Seems like when i take breaks, i get slower; even though i time my breaks (1 to 2 minutes).

Seems like when i take breaks, i get slower; even though i time my breaks (1 to 2 minutes). | I never take breaks because I look at stopping as a failure, since it technically is just "going up stairs for roughly 5kms".
I realize it is quite strenuous, but that mentality is just for myself as I am quite competitive.
The first time I ever went was 2 years ago (which I went 3 times that summer).
Best time was somewhere in the low 40mins.. Shaved off about 3 mins each time I went. With the 10 bucks to get down now, I have no interest in doing it, and it is one of those things where if you don't get into it, you will never do it.

Not sure about long weekends but if its anything like a normal weekend, its gonna be butt fuck busy. Get ready for ass to face lineups and tons of people who shouldn't even be on there IE grandparents etc etc.
IMO, save yourself the headache and go on Tues instead.

Went Friday night after work and got 59 minutes! First time I've ever hit the under 1 hour mark so I was quite happy with it. I would've gotten an even better time if I didn't take a 'shortcut' near the start. It cut into the woods and when I finally got back onto the main path, I realized I had to double back down cause I'd have to do a huge jump down from there just to get back on the path and didn't want to risk falling. FUUUU!!!
That Jim Beltz guy did it 8 times that day cause I saw his name on the tv screen. EIGHT TIMES |

Heading there now, if it's too busy, I'll go to the beach and do nothing lol Posted via RS Mobile |
