Blown Fuse? I was installing a Yoshimura fender eliminator kit on my new bike today and while finishing the wiring, two wires that weren't supposed to touch eachother came into contact while the electricals were on (I was testing whether my turn signals were functioning properly). As a result, there was a small spark and all of the electricals completely shut off. Now I'm unable to turn anything on, and my dealer isn't open until Tuesday. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to electrical problems so I'd really appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this. Thanks! oh and here are some pics of the bike http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6168795_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7381742_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._5091351_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4086582_n.jpg |
Well, sounds like you blew the main fuse is none of the electricals work. Pop open the fuse box and check for any breaks in the fuses themselves |
whats wrong with the gsxr? |
looked around the fuse box and found a 4 amp that was blown. replaced it and all good to go now :D nothing wrong with the gsxr. in fact it was by far one of the best bikes i've ever ridden. my friend wanted a bike so i gave him a good deal and got the s1k. |
your friend pretty smart :) |
sick bike dude, if i had that bike I'd be scared to do anything electrical too it. cost less to just have someone install it for me than for me to fuck sometihng up myself:jiggy: |
Don't know anything about electricals...just wanted to say nice bike lol |
^ +1 Heard the bike almost rides itself and yet can do power wheelies in 3rd gear :O |
thanks a lot guys. the bike has a rev limiter at 9k (14k redline) until the first service for break in purposes. with that said i've been easily clutching the front up in 2nd gear already so i can only imagine what it's gonna feel like when i can start using the full power band. not screwing around too much on it yet as im still waiting for my frame/axle/swing arm sliders and case covers to come in. this bike feels like a completely different beast than the gixxer though, and its frickin scary :eek5: |
if you think 9k is scary on that bike...make sure to get some diapers :p with abs + traction control.. you really don't have much to worry about on that bike. |
