Hockey is a pretty tough sport to officiate. We see shit from up above and have cameras at all angles. Refs are at ice level.

The game is so fast with so many things happening at once.

just saiyan..........

OT again for phoenix and chicago

All that shit doesn't matter when it's your job to ensure that everything is called fairly. How many times have we seen refs give penalties just to 'even things up' or to make up for a 'bad call' earlier in the game?

There's way too much inconsistency at the NHL level that it's proving to be a fucking joke.

Imagine the reaction of the Hawks fans if Torres scored the overtime winner.

hotshot1 04-17-2012 07:55 PM

I hope Torres pots the winner just to rub it in.

i am biased on the hit :troll:

Vale46Rossi 04-17-2012 08:07 PM

I'm watching a blackhawks feed online.....

the guy said

"DIRTY BEYOND THE LEAGUE RULES HIT BY THAT DIRTY MAN (shows picture of TORRES"

and they are saying 10 games for the hit

seakrait 04-17-2012 08:10 PM

Yotes win!

Vale46Rossi 04-17-2012 08:10 PM

TROLOLOLOLOL CRAWFORD

pastarocket 04-17-2012 08:10 PM

Blackhawk down! Phoenix wins it in OT!

rsx 04-17-2012 08:11 PM

Just like Kaners goal on Lu

SkinnyPupp 04-17-2012 08:11 PM

How dirty was the hit anyway? It wasn't late, it wasn't a head shot.. He left his feet a bit, but only on the impact itself which is allowed iirc. Hossa just got caught looking the other way, and hit his head on the ice, at least from what I can tell from my phone

kristianhay 04-17-2012 08:13 PM

^

Bob Mackenzie tweeted it was .83 seconds late, in comparison, Rome's hit last year was .87 seconds late and they gave him 5 games. It was a bit of a charge, he did leave his feet. Will probably get a couple games. He's a repeat offender as well.

:rukidding:

The hit being late or not is debatable but him leaving his feet was very obvious. It should definitely have been a charging call.

cdizzle_996 04-17-2012 08:14 PM

His shoulder caught his face...

Doesnt help that it was Torres either

AzNightmare 04-17-2012 08:16 PM

:okay: too bad it wasn't Keith instead...

Ch28 04-17-2012 08:18 PM

I'd be surprised if Torres got less than 5 for that.

NHL head office up to their antics again.

Hondaracer 04-17-2012 08:23 PM

the hit was all head, at first i kinda felt like Skinnypup did but then i saw it like 6 more times during the game

he'll be lucky if he starts the season next year

It's hard, and I understand that refs miss calls. I just wish they would review plays and hand out penalties, the same way they would review a goal. That said, it would probably slow the game right down, but it would also stop a lot of players from diving.

Vansterdam 04-17-2012 08:26 PM

5+ games

Pooface55 04-17-2012 08:29 PM

Holy f*** at the refs. They blew a high sticking call later in the game too. Guy was bleeding pretty bad.

I agree, the NHL is the only major sport league here where the officiating can be so fucking biased, where they can call a penalty for the smallest thing or turn their heads away and not call a blatant penalty all depending on the point in the game. I never see such an inconsistency in anything else

This will determine the suspension more than anything else
