Just watched all the dirty plays so far ( torres, neal, asham, weber, shaw etc). What a joke. I am going to have to agree with the "Analyst's" and say it all started with the Weber head slam and the 2500 fine.
NFL is far far superior when it comes to everything regarding rules.
repeat offender with a history of the exact same type of on the edge/over the edge play. 5 games because shanny is going to finally send a message and torres is the perfect guy for it.
What a joke, Neal should've gotten at least the same as Hagelin, 3 games. How Weber and Neal get away so light is insane, oh wait, they star players
NHL needs to be more like the NFL with their player discipline and refereeing accountability, the NFL publicly reprimands their officials for horrible officiating and fines them, and all NFL officiating is part time. How NHL officials who can focus full time on their craft are so brutal is a mind fuck.
+ 1
I also like how lots of times the NHF officials use the microphone to explain his reasoning.
If we publicly reprimand officials in the NHL, that would improve the game. They also need a better commissioner that hands out better suspensions/ fines.
Edit: BTW, did anyone listen to shannys explaination for the Neil suspension?
"willing to accept Neil's assertion that on this play he jumped to brace himself for an UNINTENDED collision"

He's not the perfect candidate to use as an example, because people expect it. Weber would have been the perfect example.
If Rome gets 4 games in the fucking STANLEY CUP FINALS, then Torres should get at least 5.
Rome's hit was:
- late
- shoulder is the primary area of contact, also makes contact with the head halfway through.
- leaves feet (not a lot either) caused by contact
- blindside due to Horton not looking straight ahead
- resulted in a concussion, player stretchered off the ice
Torres' hit was:
- late
- shoulder to jaw as the primary area of contact as well as the chest
- leaves his feet before contact
- blindside due to Hossa not looking straight ahead
- player stretchered off the ice, probably concussion or other head injury.
feel bad for hossa, he was having a great year.. he usually misses time from injuries but basically played a full season this year.. had him in my pool and he was solid

I would disagree on that. I had to pause and stop at the frame where initial contact was made. His feet or at least his right foot was completely on the ice on initial contact. But yea, he probably did jump/or lunge at him.

Fuck this karma bullshit
im sorry guys, i been a Canucks fan, but a Hockey fan first
What if Daniel's attempt to elbow Keith prior did leave Keith with a concussion...
I said that the 5 games Keith got meant nothing really because it didnt explain ANYTHING. Such as was there an intent lead by prior said incident and so forth. The public will never know. Keith coulda gotten 10 games and none of the homer fans would be happy.
Now all the "hockey fans" come out and said BOOHOO poor Hossa, or those bitches deserved it. A bad hit is a bad hit. It doesnt matter how many games Torres or Weber got because its too late to "set an example"
Whatever the case may be, this hit doesnt belong in hockey, but as long as shit like this happens here and there, NBC will see their ratings continue to go up because this is the shit that gets hockey on the map for americans.
The NHL is becoming a BUSHLEAGUE until someone sets some consistency with discipline
