Aren't islanders still paying him? Posted via RS Mobile
In June of 2007, the Islanders bought out the final four years of Yashin's 10-year, $87.5 million contract signed in 2001. The remainder of the deal is a $2.2 million cap hit for the Islanders which goes through the 2014-15 NHL season.

MINNEAPOLIS - The brother of Derek Boogaard was charged Friday with providing the prescription drug that contributed to the former NHL enforcer's overdose death in May.
A complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court says 24-year-old Aaron Boogaard gave his brother an Oxycodone pill the day of his death. Derek Boogaard, 28, was found dead in his apartment May 13 of what authorities later ruled was a toxic mix of alcohol and Oxycodone.
The younger Boogaard was charged with unlawful sale of a controlled substance, a felony that also applies in instances when drugs are given away for free. He was also charged with interfering with the scene of a death for allegedly misleading the coroner or concealing evidence.

LOL why would they use a picture of Schnoo? Although most people probably won't know. It just looks like him and he definitely uses that mask and those pads.
I don't like Spezza, but that was the best trade Ottawa has ever made. Spezza AND Chara for Yashin. Man, did the Islanders ever make some bad moves back then. They traded Luongo and Jokinen for Kvasha and Parrish, then because they didn't have a goalie they had to draft Rick DiPietro ahead of Gaborik and Heatley. Also the McCabe/Bertuzzi/Ruutu for Linden trade. So instead of Yashin, Kvasha, Parrish, Linden and DiPietro they could have had Luongo, Jokinen, Heatley, Bertuzzi, McCabe, Jarko Ruutu, Spezza and Chara. Unreal! Report this comment!
from tsn.ca comment. holy shit what a shitty franchise history LOL
Looks ugly. Especially the alternate. It's just text... seriously.
I can't stand text logos for hockey jerseys.
I didn't like the primary logo either... but realizing after that it was
based on the Royal Canadian Air Force Logo... I accepted it more... but still think it's ugly.
I liked some of the concept logos posted a few months back a lot better.
