im hoping bruins, rangers, and chicago get knocked out of thefirst round as well :D

Not really racist! 04-23-2012 01:25 PM

PHX / FLR SCF? jk

pastarocket 04-23-2012 01:28 PM

I'm hoping to see a Flyers and Predators final.

-really impressed at Giroux's performance so far in the playoffs.

Vansterdam 04-23-2012 01:35 PM

i personally think we need to get rid of mason raymond in the offseason, and possibly manny malholtra

edler is really a hit or miss, he was preety solid in the regular season but man he fucken sucks during the playoffs

seems like keslar and raymond have not been the same since their injury

we were struggling since january with majority of our games winning by 1

it also seemed like vigneaut was juggling the lines way to much in the playoffs ( with adding ballard, tanev, ebbett) and putting booth on the first line wtf?

not to mention daniel was injured .. wouldof thought vigneaut would add daniel back in either game 3 or 4(wonder what outcome of game 3 would be if daniel played)

also the the trade with hodgson/kassian, i bet hodgson wouldof got the game winner in game 3 or 5.. that guy was clutch. but we shall see how kassian does in the next season.

seems like our top 6 foward couldent score for shit, with the exception of henrik for the playoffs

i think we should keep vigneault and see what happens to either goalie in the off season.

imagine we win president cups again next year :fullofwin:

MR_BIGGS 04-23-2012 01:36 PM

For the exception of Briere, not one forward on the Flyers makes more than $4.2 million.

pastarocket 04-23-2012 01:37 PM

+1. Get rid of May Ray!

kristianhay 04-23-2012 01:42 PM

Any thoughts on if you guys want Salo back for another year if he decides to play? The guy seemed pretty upset/shocked with the loss. I feel for him.

Game Day: Salo post-game raw Apr.22.12 Video - NHL VideoCenter - Vancouver Canucks

pastarocket 04-23-2012 01:44 PM

Salo is way past his prime. The team needs to tweak the defence a bit.

Hmmm, Rick Nash does not want to stay in Columbus. I really think the Canucks need a change in identity. An impact power forward.

Nash to the Canucks!!! Make it happen Gillis.

Bonka 04-23-2012 01:46 PM

^ ^ ^

Pretty hard to watch. I think the overwhelming majority (including I) would really want to see him back, no question.

kristianhay 04-23-2012 01:47 PM

^

Yeah, for a low price he could be a good #6 guy. Definitely hard to watch.

What do you think really needs to be addressed?

-Coaching
-Defense
-Depth Scoring

b0unce. [?] 04-23-2012 01:53 PM

2m for a healthy salo is worth it.

MR_BIGGS 04-23-2012 01:55 PM

Listening to team 1040, I think I’ve drank the kool-aid and bought into some of the crazies calling in. For argument’s sake, what team do you guys consider in the best position to trade for Rick Nash?

Granted the CBA will need to be revisited and the cap will likely change, among many other things, could you see Gillis trying to make a move for him?

His cap hit is $7.8 million until 2017/18

Would you pull this trade off to try and win next season?

Ryan Kesler (no trade kicks in next season) and went to school in Ohio State, Cory Schneider and Mason Raymond

for

Rick Nash and a conditional draft pick

No I’m not saying this will happen and I’m sure there are implications, but what do you guys think it would take to land Rick Nash? Where do you see him going? I think San Jose has some chips they can play with this summer.

Sign Gregory Campbell to get Colin Campbell on our side. lol

Who centers the 2nd line?

I wouldn't oppose to it, but it as likely as Luongo being traded.

Vansterdam 04-23-2012 02:13 PM

i would like to see keslar gone too but he seems to much of a fan favorite :heckno:\

well maybe not so much as a fan favorite this year haha

maybe he will heal fully in the off season and have a beast season next year

DanHibiki 04-23-2012 02:14 PM

I strongly believe Kesler just had an off season. He'll be back to normal next year.

The guy has improved year after year and played great in the olympics as well. one off year and everyone abandon ship?

Vansterdam 04-23-2012 02:21 PM

we should start a rs pool to see who gets traded by the start of next season lol

Stats don't lie. They don't tell the whole story but don't hate just because you don't get it.

#canucks call a presser for tomorrow morning at 10am. Gillis availability followed by player availability. No mention of Vigneault FWIW.

+1. -not opposed to this trade either but you would need to trade for a new second line centre. If Luongo gets traded, his $5.3 million hit on the salary cap could be used to get a new centre for the second line.

Anytime you trade one of your core players away, it is a high risk/high reward scenario.

The Flyers GM made two blockbuster deals to trade Carter and Richards away to get Simmonds, Brayden Schenn, and draft picks. Philly is looking good after those trades but that doesn't mean a core player trade for the Canucks improving the team is guaranteed either.

Would Gillis roll the dice on trading a core player like Kesler? Hmmmm. I think it was an off year for Kes because of surgery for an injury.

It would be a dream to have Nash play on this team but would Gillis want to pay the huge price to get Ricky to play on the west coast?

DanHibiki 04-23-2012 03:01 PM

Regarding Rick Nash. Put it in perspective, he's making close to what Crosby is making and not even close to putting up the same production nor having that effect of naking his linemates better.

I get what you are saying, but Nash hasn't played with any player of caliber compared to what Crosby has gotten to play with. That being said, I thought Nash was one of the best players on the Canadian men's Olympic team.

He didn't get the game winner like Crosby though...:okay:

Crosby didn't have anyone to play with in his first seaason either. Pittsburgh was a crap team that year and he still managed 102 points.

I love Rick Nash as much as the next guy but damn, 7.9mil is a scary ass contract. Luongo is only 5.33 and playing good and look at all the flack he's getting. It won't be long til Nash gets the same treatment when he's only putting up 60-70 pts.

Not really racist! 04-23-2012 03:11 PM

Nash has proven hes a consistent 60/70 pt player though, thats for one.

Crosby's highest scoring total was actually 120 in 07 where he won the Art Ross

MR_BIGGS 04-23-2012 03:21 PM

I don't want to get into a Nash and Crosby comparison. I would rather have Crosby each and every time.

I'm just saying, Nash with some talented players around him can be an elite player.
