i wanna see STL vs NSH for the western conference final

RiceIntegraRS 04-23-2012 09:45 PM

After alot of thinking, i want to see the St. Louis Blues win the Stanley Cup. Theyve been in the league for about 45 years and havent won a cup yet. I do like the Predators but i dont think i can handle another team winning the Cup thats been in the league less than the Canucks have. ei Carolina, Tampa Bay, Anahiem.

So im hoping for a Blues vs Capitals SCF

Preds has to take the West and Flyers in the East

Exactly what I'm predicting but I think the surprise team from the west that might make it to the finals is Phoenix just because of their goaltending.

You missed all the other points about AV vs MacT.

Both coaches lost in SCF Game 7 situations but AV had the President Trophy winning Canucks at his disposal. MacT's Oiler squad squeezed in at #8 and they took out Detroit in the 1st round (who won the President's Trophy that season!) He actually had to make changes to his team's game plan in order to beat a much more stacked Red Wings roster.

What does AV do? Scratch players? Line juggle? He will consistently play the same strategy with the same favorite players regardless of how ineffective they are. What is AV's system like? It's pretty unclear. He just puts lines together and hopes for the best.

I am now a Chris Neil fan.

He does a Madden "Pump up the crowd" move MID-FIGHT.

Wrong call in every way.

It looks like the puck stops or slows under Lundqvist's stick and if Neil does not make contact with the kick, then the puck magically accelerated. Lundqvist's stick barely moves. If anything, it moves against the puck, pulling it toward Lundqvist.

Neil also pushes Lundqvist with the stick. It shouldn't have counted even if the goal wasn't kicked in.

Absolutely awful officiating in slow motion BUT I can understand that at the speed of the game and in that kind of confusion, the refs are only human and made a bad call.

DanHibiki 04-24-2012 01:16 AM

i'm guessing his skate BARELY grazed the top of the puck to cause it to accelerate.

How quickly people forget they practically made a petition in Edmonton to run him out of town................ that and the fact he killed a young lady while drunk driving. Yah I know it was a long time ago, but tells you something of his character IMO.

Mike Oxbig 04-24-2012 02:11 AM

bob hartley before MacT?

I don't quite understand the system of how officiating works,
on who has power to make what type of calls in the game.

Why couldn't that goal be called off?

Everyone's looking at the same replays from all the camera angles.

Can a call on the ice not be reverted or something? :suspicious: :fulloffuck:

I can understand if it's a bad call for a penalty, where it would be hard to cancel the call because play was blown down.
But after a goal or a disallowed goal, play would have been stopped anyway.
So why can't they revert it if proven to be a bad goal based on instant replay.

It's as simple as checking for off-side goals and then disallowing them and then resetting the clock.
(Although even that, there's instances where they don't even bother reviewing that)

I don't understand how all this officiating system works... like when something is not "review-able"

I wonder if everyone in Detroit is calling for Mike Babcock's head or if Canuck fans are just retarded.

Lets trade coaches with Detroit! ^_______________________^

How the hell does the NHL allow panthers fan to throw rubber rats on the ice. Its pretty dangerous if u hit player in the face with it

lol, I remember the fans doing that in '96. Poor goalie from the other team would take cover in his own net. :lol

Directly as a result of Florida's rat trick craze, the league amended its rules prior to the 1996–97 season to prevent a recurrence of this phenomenon and the delays to the game that accompanied it. The league declared that if fans threw debris onto the ice, the referee can have the public address announcer warn the fans to stop. After a warning, the referee can then issue a delay of game penalty to the home team.[8]

With the recent Panther success in the 2011–12 NHL season, fans have revived the "rat tossing" by celebrating each home victory by throwing plastic rats onto the ice. On April 15th, 2012, the Florida Panthers threw plastic rats on the ice after a 4-2 playoff victory over the New Jersey Devils. It was the first playoff victory for the Panthers since 1997.In Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, fans threw hundreds of rats onto the ice, making it the most since the run to the cup.[12] After victories at the Bankatlantic Center, workers would pick up the rats and return them to the Pantherland gift shop for resale. However, after some Devils fans allegedly bought rats at Pantherland to throw them prematurely in an attempt to spur a penalty against the Panthers, the Panthers organization made the decision to no longer sell toy rats at Pantherland. It remains unknown whether any other measures would be applied to discourage rat-throwing.[13]
