The reason I think we won't keep both luo and schneider is because I think we're going to make some moves during the summer.
And to make those moves we need to unload one if them. They are both big ticket players that we can use to negotiate a sweet deal with.
Now that the smoke is cleared, I can say that the city of Vancouver is a starting goalie graveyard. Time and time again, you so called "fans" leave them out to dry(with the exception of Cloutier). Luongo can get a shutout on a 52save performance and gets NO CREDIT whatsoever AND get slammed for one mistake say, should have froze the puck on that one play.
I love the Canucks, but some people need to take a look in the mirror. The same people calling into 1040 asking for the head of Luongo are now the same people saying, ohh, Luongo saved this team upon his arrival 6years ago,he must stay... you fucking hypocrites.
Schneider is great too, dont get me wrong, without him, we might not see back to back presidents trophies or give the team a chance to win either. Both him and Lu are valuable assets to this team.
If the decision was made to keep both goalies because of one common dream, will all you bandwagoning schnoo schnoo sackriders STFU?
man, i was enjoying all the winning we had for the past couple of years...if people expect a clean house scenario, then id be pissed if we became mediocre again...
what we have is a good thing and the inevitable will come (stanley cup)..GMMG dont do anything drastic...
trolling or not, he has been great for us...he was asked to change some of his techniques and it got us to the finals...who knows what was changed again but there were more than enough good that outweighed the bad

If you're talking about this season it's pretty obvious lol

Well IMO we cant have potentially 9-10Million of cap space dedicated in Goal. Cause that wasnt our problem to begin with. We didnt lose cause of Luongo or Schneider. It was because we couldnt score. The only way for us to keep both of them is if Schneider decided to play another season for us by taking a huge paycut. But that isnt gonna happen(im hoping to god im wrong) so one of them has to be moved. Im hoping 1 of them can actually fetch us a bonafide top line player cause come playoff time, our scoring usually dries up.
As for the Goalie Graveyard, i think this time around we have 2 goalies that are just too good as to years past when we had goalies that just sucked.
As for forwards, i know MG likes to have a balanced lineup all thru out his 4 lines, but at this point in time, Id rather have a 6Mil player + a 700k player than a 4.2Mil Booth + a 2.5Mil Raymond
Goalie graveyard? Other than McLean and Luongo who were the other great goalies that died out here in recent past???
Vancouver just never had solid goaltenders for a long time after Mclean. People consider Vancouver a goalie graveyard because after this:
Dan Cloutier
Félix Potvin
Kevin Weekes
Sean Burke
Alex Auld
Bob Essensa
Johan Hedberg
Corey Hirsch
Arturs Irbe
Mika Noronen
Maxime Ouellet
Garth Snow
Kay Whitmore
People still shit on Luongo. Granted fans can be vocal, but look at that list again.

from a hockey mindset, this is correct given our goalie situation.
This is why this city can't have nice things and this is why we have one of the worst fanbase in all of north american pro sports.
This is why i try my best not to post anything Canucks on Facebook or twitter no more. The fans are disgusting

I for one am a big Lu supporter form day 1 mainly BECAUSE of this list. I suffered through all these years and am grateful we have a good goalie.

His 72 save performance was his first playoff game too...
I nearly shat my pants when Toews made that pass and a huge sigh of relief when Bobby Lou stopped it.
Whatever the decision will be, I hope it'll be the right one. The thing with Luongo that worries me is his mental strength but hopefully he's gotten better at that.

+1. I also breathed a huge sigh of relief when Lou stopped Patrick Sharp in the game 7 overtime game last year against the Hawks. That save is right up there with this great save from Kirk McLean. Captain Kirk stood on his head in the 1994 Stanley Cup run. The best goalie save in NHL playoff history. Stack the pads!

My argument was the name "goalie graveyard" it implied, or implies; that we've had goalie talent but Vancouver, whether it be the city, fans, front office are the reasons why goalies end up "dying."
Like I said we haven't had goalie top-end talent after Mclean. I completely agree that the fans use the blame game way too much. BUT, that should never affect a professional goalie. The reason why the Canucks are losing are beyond the goalie(s) and the critics; it's the need for a perfect formula that balances out top end talent, coaching and depth.

Felix Potvin? it can be argued... hahahaha
best of that list for sure..
Alex Auld was in his prime and did okay
Basically it sounds like he is more trouble than it's worth, and not a lot of teams would have offered much for him. That's why they got Kassian for him, and not someone of similar offensive caliber. Good riddance, if that is the case.
I'd soak that in, but take it with a little caution on the side. The guy is under a huge microscope and there's an ugly side to hockey called politics; the guy is currently in a "save my skin" mode.
Just like Grabner, I believe CoHo has the skillset that you just can't learn and practice through training and conditioning and yes, that does come with some baggage. But don't tell me having talent does not come with a baggage. Look at Luongo. Perfect example of with great talent comes great baggage. There's also Ryan Kesler. Rypien also had excessive baggage as well, and years on over the franchise has shown generious patience with all of them.
All in all, I'm not trying to put CoHo in a pedestal. I'm just trying to put him into perspective. People's issue about MG's managerial decision to trade is only in the surface. The crux of it is what he brought in return, and that's fuckin' Kassian, which had a degree off impact with our current outcome. Had he obtained a return more favourable to the Canucks, this wouldn't be an issue today.
Looks to me he's deflecting attention from the crux of his criticism by redirecting attention to and justifying the surface criticism. Politics.
