Does anyone think that the chances of getting a proper return on Luongo is hindered by the fact that the Flames can deal Kipper to any team thats willing after July1, yes Kipper is older, but contract wise, its "less risk"

Don't forget Tim Thomas might be available as well. Rask state during the season he was getting tired of being just a backup, so it'll be interesting to see what Boston does there.

Some idiot on facebook said Luongo for Stamkos would be realistic, because the Lightning won't be able to afford St. Louis, Lecavalier, and Stamkos

Kipper is pretty much the only reason Calgary had a sniff of the playoffs this year. They were in contention because he posted a 2.35GAA and 35 wins despite Calgary being a terrible, terrible hockey team. Except for the wins, he was every bit as good as Pekka Rinne, stat-wise. If Calgary ditches him, it will be for full-on rebuild mode.
And none of those goalies are #1 goalies...they're all career backups. Remember what happened when Chris Mason got a #1 job as soon as he left Nashville? Al Montoya? CURTIS SANFORD!? Good teammates, mediocre goalies.
But then again, I'm sure most of us thought Mike Smith was done before he got to Phoenix and beastmoded that shit.
Either way, Lu or Schnoo will be the best option available for several teams. Remember Luongo's contract has an out clause...and big market teams don't really give a shit about salary or else someone would've assassinated Wade Redden by now.
