There are loads of rumours about Wayne Gretzky and Vancouver Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini having dinner together when the Canucks and Kings were playing in Los Angeles about two weeks ago, and that’s certainly true.
But apparently there isn’t a whole lot to be read into it.
According to the Great One, the Aquilini family’s real estate broker in California has been a longtime friend of Gretzky’s, some 15 years now, and those two happened to be speaking with each other the very day that Francesco was there. They ended up having dinner together that night.
“Honestly, there was nothing to it at all, just four or five guys having dinner,” said Gretzky by email Tuesday afternoon.
Gretzky has said that one day he will think about getting back into hockey, and there was immediately speculation that he may have chosen Vancouver as a possible landing spot for activity in some capacity. But it turns out there isn’t a whole lot to any of the rumours that may be making the rounds.

WAT!
Apparently he's the longest shot of those three listed.

That's no surprise at all, there has been talk for a couple years that he has been wanting a GM job that's why they scaled back him being on TSN the last bit.
Don't sell Pierre McGuire short. He's a smart guy. He's got a couple of Stanley Cup rings. I wouldn't doubt that he gets a GM job sometime in the next few years. Of the three listed, I think he's the longest shot as well. McGuire is a smart guy but an owner would have to take a pretty big risk going with a media personality that hasn't worked in hockey since the mid-90s and has never been a general manager compared to two guys that have experience building very good teams.
I guess Ken Holland and many GMs are kinda glad to see Radulov like this right now.
If Pierre McGuire becomes a GM, they don't even need the scouting department. He would know every single prospect and players background and their family. lol
Pierre McGuiere apparently has turned down a couple coach and GM jobs over the years because he wants to stay close to his family. I believe he lives in upstate NY like Buffalo or somewhere. Montreal wouldn't be a stretch to fit with that.
He got into broadcasting in 1999 so hes not THAT far removed from being on the other side of the journalism.
Absolutely love the guy and miss him on TSN a lot.

why would ken holland be glad?
didnt radulov and his predators knock the red wings out of round 1?

hopefully he doesn't offer big contracts by telling players they have to have sex with him.
You didnt hear about how pissed off the Wings organization was about Radulov?
No, please elaborate.

One time at Moxies I actually saw a guy who had a Bergevin Canucks jersey. I was thinking... "who the fuck gets a Marc Bergevin Canucks jersey?"
