this years team canada looks pretty stacked |
Montreal will love AV. Sucks for Vancouver losing a good coach and possibly our greatest goalie too. |
too many hearsay...i got friends who have connections to friends...lets just wait for the facts and see |
bob cole fucking sucks, dude is getting way too old for this |
Gillis and AV both have 1 year left on their contracts. The media have nothing to report on so they speculate on what may or may not happen. Quote:
AV is a great coach and now had some great playoff experience. There are no Mike Babcocks or Bowman's around to hire. |
Vancouver seriously needs another major sports team because the sports media in this city have nothing to report once the hockey season is over locally. And I find fans, media and now it seems like (if the rumors are true) the owners might be going a bit overboard after a first round elimination which most teams would consider a bump in the road in terms of their long term plan. I don't see the Bruins or Pens going ape shit and dumping their coach and players, Vancouver on the other hand is ready to fire one the best coaches in the league over the past few seasons, getting rid of their number one goalie and god knows what else is in store. |
Devils make it 3-2 Huge goal. Time to plug it up and play a 1-4. |

Perhaps he wants to excel in everything in his life. Example? When he hired Mike Gillis a few years back, I saw Aquilini in the Steve Nash gym downtown on a Canucks game night. I heard Mark Cuban likes to do some cardio on the day of a Dallas Mavericks game, but what I saw from Aquilini's workout was amazing. The guy was doing some squats with some heavy kettle balls, forty five pounds, for each leg, if I remember correctly. That's pretty good for a guy that had a big belly. :) He was working out pretty hard while one of his brothers, Paolo, was giving him the personal trainer like pep talk "Come on bro, one more set". I overheard him say that he wanted to get into the best shape of his life. Therefore, it's not surprising that the Canucks owner has the drive, the competitive nature to win above all else. Perhaps his emotions boiled over in that talk with Vigneault after the playoffs. Here's a kettle ball workout if you're wondering what the heck it is: http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...ll-Workout.jpg |
NJ wins in OT :( |
Devils win OT |
Wow! Can't believe the Devils won! |

That's why it's an over inflated accomplishment. It's pretty much an automatic win when you're the only playoff team, and only team with a better than .500 win% in a division :lawl: EDIT I should say that winning the division is a given, the presidents cup takes SOME effort.. but they certainly have it easier than other teams, having to play scrubs like the Oilers all the time. |
Man LAK is crazy |

I think if the Canucks would have won the cup last year it could have possibly made it even worse this year with the first round outage. not saying another riot but i think there would have been a lot more questioning on who needs to go and who needs to stay with the team. |
