Kane is easy to hate, but he's dangerous every time he has the puck. 6.3 is about right I'd say. And Sharp is worth the money too. Hell of a player. Hawks have an INCREDIBLE core. Posted via RS Mobile |

I guess that's what happens when you are in the shadow of Kane/Toews/Hossa/Keith/Seabrook... but works for him..
(I just hope Kesler doesn't get brought up as a comparison) lol
GOOD signing by the hawks | he's good, i just think the majority of the players' salary is being inflated right now from guys like richards, kovalchuck etc.. list goes on. as good as weber is, i think he should have gotten 6mil. 7.5 is fine, but remember, the arbitrators felt that he deserved 8~ give or take.

Sharp is worth that kind of money.
We might be thinking he isn't worth a salary that's only 200k less than the Sedins, who have 23 and 33 more points than him but that's an unfair comparison as the Sedins signed their deal when they were in Sharp's point range AND they took less than they would've gotten on the open market to stay in Vancouver.
You really can't compare the salaries with the ones on the Canucks. We sometimes think they're ridiculous but almost to the man, every Canuck is being paid less than they could've gotten elsewhere. EVEN LUONGO. There are 7 goalies ahead of his $5.33m cap hit.
Sharp's numbers are roughly equivalent to Kesler's but he's getting paid more. Who would you rather have...even if their salaries were equivalent?
The Canucks roster is a bargain. We need to gift Mike Gillis with frankincense and myrrh.

So what your saying is: Timonen, phaneuf, redden, boyle, bouwmeester and campbell (who all earn more than 6M) are better than Weber?
I thought 7.5M was fair considering the fact Weber is just 26, hasn't reached his full potential in his career and was a top 3 candidate for the Norris.
Weber/his agent thought he was worth 8M, not the arbitrator. The Preds offered 4.5M which was smart on their end, hoping the arbitrator would choose between 4.5 and 8M, ending up with 7.5M. Posted via RS Mobile |

IMO all signs are pointing to the fact Weber wants out. Sign the 1 year deal, see how the Preds do next year, and decide his future in NSH with Suter and Rinne.
It'll be real interesting next year when Suter and Rinne become UFAs. They're both due for a significant raises. Posted via RS Mobile |

The Preds probably didn't want to bash or say too many negative things about the face of their franchise in the hearing and ruin any possibility of extending him long-term.

If Nolan makes this team, we're in trouble. No Kesler or Raymond for 2nd line to start the year.

bring on the "sign linden and nazzy to PTO" posts haha.. jk
I've always like Nolan.. his "call" goal against hasek is still awesome to this day.
I was just looking a the available FA and I wonder how much Drury wants.I just noticed he is still available. I wonder if he'll sign for 1 mil-1.5mil/1 year deal or something? (IF healthy)
Sedins/Burr
Samuelsson/Kes/Sturm
Hansen/Manny/Drury (If manny isn't 100% yet or have probs.. Hansen/Drury/Higgins sounds good too)
Winchester/Laps/Bitz
plus we still have Hodgson/Higgins/Raymond (when he's healthy) to switch around...
just a thought :P
