Kesler's agent is upset about AV's comments about whether Kes's shoulder injury would affect the player. AV put his foot into his mouth?

I don't see why he would be, Kesler himself said that the injuries are no excuse and that he will return as a better player next season.

correct me if i am wrong, but i remember the analysts were saying that the contract has an out-clause at the latter stages and/or roberto can just retire and the cap should not count against that team.

Like you mentioned Carter and Richards are coming into their Primes and Loungo is declining. So hence why it would be harder to move him. I believe Carter and Richards didn't have a NTC as Loungo does. His clause kicks in I believe in 2yrs. Correct me if I am wrong.

Um no, im pretty sure Lu's NTC has already kicked in. Once he gets traded, that NTC is completely void.

His contract is moveable.

I think you read what I wrote wrong. I said Lui has a current NTC. Which will make it harder to move him since he can dictate which teams he wants to be traded to. If the deal isn't there than most likely Gillis won't make the trade. He'd rather have goalies 1a and 1b on his team.

AV should keep his medical comments to himself. Guys a fucking moron in this regard, just like how he handled the cody hodgson situation

Mike Oxbig 05-24-2012 03:08 PM

agent is upset because its true also calling out kesler to step up

10-11 kesler was the best we seen and we might not see him in that form again

AzNightmare 05-24-2012 03:11 PM

Lol, AV gets contract extension, says whatever he wants afterwards.
Problem? :troll:

I really think we need a legit top line. A line that's fast, hits and scores. Not a sedins fan at all. Great regular season performers but as secondary scoring with little to no leadership abilities.

Kes is a true winger (with two way adaptability as a centre) but really sucks at passing. He'd be great with a centre that opens up space and lets him fly down and crash the net.

Old news that Luongo wants out but AV confirming LOL
him and his big mouth

Sedins play the exact same game throughout the year. When the going gets tough in the playoffs, they rarely step it up.

your statement should be the opposite, sedins are consistant year round no need to do any fancy stepping up

The Tampa Bay Lightning will be looking to make an upgrade in goal this summer, but it might not be with Roberto Luongo in their crosshairs.

Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman appeared on a Tampa Bay sports radio station on Thursday morning to discuss the team's offseason and suggested that his search for a No. 1 netminder might not happen through a trade as has been speculated.

"I think everybody's trying to find somebody that's an elite guy," Yzerman told 620 WDAE on Thursday. "I would say there's probably five or six elite goaltenders in the league and then there's a group of good goaltenders, and then there's a group of teams searching for that guy to lock up and not worry about for the present and the future.

"My philosophy is I'm trying to find that Hall of Fame goaltender. But good luck trying to do that, it takes time. We'll find that guy through the draft or unrestricted free agency — that guy isn't there at this time."

Luongo, whose wife's family is from Florida, has long been discussed in trade speculation involving the Lightning since he told reporters at the end of the regular season that he would waive the no-trade clause in his contract if he was asked to.

Luongo, 33, signed a 12-year, $64 million contract extension with the Canucks in 2009.

kristianhay 05-24-2012 09:06 PM

AV's comment on Lu wanting to be traded was a really stupid thing to do. If true, it greatly hinders Gillis' trading power as other teams will offer less knowing that he WANTS out. Argh.

dbaz 05-24-2012 09:29 PM

so av's answer was in french and apparently along the lines of "luongo can do whatever he wants" then the press took it and made it more interesting. also tbay is still interested, yzerman is just playing the cards right so the press doesnt go stupid crazy and start twisting stories.

You said his clause kicked in in 2 years. I'm pretty sure he already has one, but it is void once he is traded.

spoon.ek9 05-24-2012 10:59 PM

I don't believe that's true either. A player's contract doesn't change once he's been traded. For example, Ballard still has his NTC after being traded to us.

ConanOBrien: The @LAKings are playing the @PhoenixCoyotes? I wonder which city that shouldn't have a hockey team will win.

ConanOBrien: PS - I'm watching this @LAKings game on my DVR. No spoilers, please.
