LA in 6. And go LA. I want to see a team from the West win and it would be great to see Willie lift the cup.

Still hard to believe Bernier is on their team and somewhat contributing |

wouldn't it be something if Willie raises the cup? Cup winning defenseman that Gillis let walk away (if it becomes true that is).

I'm thinking LA has got this in the bag, but praying for NJ to win, haha. As long as they win at least one of the first two home games
NJD in 7.

New Jersey wins the Cup in 7 games. Quick has met his match in Hall of Fame goalie Brodeur. -wanna see Marty hoist the Cup for the fourth time.
The offence from Kovalchuk, Parise, and clutch play of Henrique combined with Brodeur's play will be enough to beat the Kings. LA has the edge in terms of centers and defence but I don't see them beating Brodeur. Jersey's fourth line players like Carter should also play a factor in the Finals.

After seeing Brodeur losing the starting job during 2010 Olympics...I felt bad for the guy...hall of famer and you're kinda seeing the end of his career.
Now seeing him back in form and in the SC finals, it's hard not to cheer for him. I want to see Marty win it one last time and retire a true champion he is.

I want the devils to win and it would be perfect from Brodeur to end his career holding the cup but I have a feeling hes going to come back another year no matter what.

REPORTS: 47-YEAR-OLD HASEK EYEING POSSIBLE NHL RETURN
Could the Dominator be planning a return to the NHL?
Reports from various publications in the Czech Republic are circulating that 47-year-old netminder Dominik Hasek is indeed eyeing a return to the NHL after a four-year sbsence.
According to Czech newspaper Denik Sport, Detroit or Tampa Bay are among teams that might come into play.
Hasek's son Michal is a student at Michigan State University and while the former Vezina Trophy winner visited him in the United States, he reportedly met with the managers of a few NHL clubs.
"We are working on [a new deal] but I don't know the answer yet," Hasek told Denik Sport.
Speaking with Isport.cz in the Czech Republic, Hasek was quoted as saying, "my agent, Ritch Winter, knows what I want. It'll probably be decided in June."
Hasek has also been training for his potential return to the NHL.
"I train regularly, almost every day, without exception," Hasek told Isport.cz.
Hasek is no stranger to comebacks having announced his retirement for the first time nearly 13 years ago while a member of the Buffalo Sabres.
Rather than hang up his skates, Hasek was traded to the Detroit Red Wings, with whom he would win a Stanley Cup in 2002.
Following the Cup win, Hasek officially retired only to return after a one-year absence and rejoin the Wings.
After the lockout, Hasek played the 2005-06 season for the Ottawa Senators before returning to Detroit for two more seasons and winning a second Stanley Cup in 2007-08.
Hasek again announced his retirement before returning to the ice one year later with HC Pardubice in the Czech Republic where he began his career.
Hasek spent the 2010-11 season playing for Spartak Moscow of the KHL before retiring yet again last year.
Hasek, is a two-time winner of the Hart Trophy as the NHL's MVP and s six-time Vezina winner as the NHL's top goaltender. He posted a 27-10-3 record with five shutouts, a 2.14 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in his last NHL season with Detroit.
In 735 career NHL games Hasek has 389 wins, a 2.20 goals against and a .922 career save percentage.

He had a shaky regular season by his standards and was outplayed by Hedberg for stretches, but has been solid throughout the playoffs. I'd hate for him to come back next year and stink up the joint and then decide to retire. Quote:

Maybe Hasek is the HOF goalie that Yzerman was speaking of getting through UFA. If he brings back Roloson and Hasek, they're goalies will be 44yo average age [ Quote:

He was messed up pretty bad, gone for several months with ZERO updates on his condition/status. Canucks gave him an offer, nowhere near what LA gave though and rightfully so at the time.

He doesn't even contribute on the scoresheet like Doughty does, but he log a ton of ice time and kills penalties.
Instead, he deserves the cup because he's a stand-up guy, a great teammate, and a hard worker. He's getting old so he won't have many more chances at the cup.
As a side note, I named my son Brendan Mitchell because of #7 and #8...

Report: Maple Leafs interested in Tomas Vokoun
The Maple Leafs have stated their faith in current starting goaltender James Reimer, but they have expressed a desire to acquire a goaltender to play alongside the 24-year-old.
While rumours have suggested that the Leafs will pursue Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo, Vokoun represents a safe and cheap alternative. Report: Maple Leafs interested in Tomas Vokoun | NHL | The Score |

That offseaon when we got Hamhuis and Ballard, our defence was looking pretty damn good. Only if Ballard turned out the way we expected, our defence would've been a lot more solid. Hoff, Edler, Bieksa, Hamhuis, Ballard, Salo.
2012 offseason would be nice...Edler, Bieksa, Hamhuis, Suter, Garrison.....Weber.... |
